There he goes again, Agony Watts being less than honest.

He didn't agree with Greenpeace. They apposed the bill because it did not go far enough. http://www.greenpeace.org/usa/news/greenpeace...

Silly, silly man.

If Wally Herger was "fired up about it", we know the bill is probably GOOD for Americans and the residents of his congressional district!

Intersting letter.
I am guessing Anthony DID read the whole thing, since he knows all those details.
Let's assume it is all true--even though Anthony works for a FAUX news outlet.
Anthony wants us to "Fight this as if your life depended on it," but he doesn't offer ANY suggestions as to HOW.

Poor Anthony, it takes him 6 paragraphs to say nothing.

"Imagine, you'll need to pass an "energy audit" to sell your home."

Here's a clue, you stupid climate clown, you already have to pass one to sell a home in California. Attic insulation levels are mandated, you dumb shmuck.

Watts was unspecific in his reasons why the House approved "cap and trade" bill should be defeated. Since it's well known he's skeptical that greenhouse gases cause climate warming, it's not surprising he'd prefer no action to preserve the climate.

Virtually every proposal before Congress has worthwhile argument for and against and anyone who describes these arguments in a way that helps the public understand them is performing a useful public service. It'd be helpful if Watts were doing that, but he isn't. Instead he's telling us the bill is just bad, Herger is a hero for opposing it (does tell us why he's opposing which provisions) and doesn't even tell us he doubts accumulations of green house gases warm the climate (which by definition is what green house gases do).

Wouldn't it be great if the great issues of the day ceased to be moved by emotional soundbites such as offered by Watts?

What is dumb is having to pass an "energy audit" at all.

Anthony Watts concern is well founded.

But don't worry. The Messiah said he wasn't going raise taxes on anyone making less than $250K a year -

unless you -

Heat your home.

Cool your home.

Drive a car.

Buy anything.

Eat food.

Or enjoy being employed.

All True.

Waxman Markey has another name: "The Mexico, China, India Full Employment Act"

Because it will decimate our economy and kill what is left of manufacturing in the US. It will be too expensive to do anything in the US.

They want the US to have the Carbon footprint of a 3rd world country. It will happen by giving us the economy of a 3rd world country.

Gee Tony, pretty dramatic.

Forty Four Democrats voted gainst it. So, would that mean that over 140 republicans voted for it? The world, the real world- isn't paying any attention to your little rants Tony. Get a Grip. Something is melting all of that ice, if it isn't global warming maybe it's all of the hot air coming from your mouth.

Buster's claims all true? Not really.

A fact check shows Obama's promise not to raise taxes on those earning below $250K (for couples) or $200K (for individuals) was in context of rolling back the Bush tax cuts. He said he intended to moderately roll back Bush's tax cuts on these rich but not those below the stated earning thresholds. Buster and you apparently have leaped to take Obama's claim to mean what it didn't, perhaps for the pleasure of labeling Obama a liar, etc. In fact, Obama hasn't kept every one of his campaign promises, but this particular tax promise wasn't one of them.

The premise behind your observation that Obama shouldn't propose any government action involving some sacrifice doesn't seem reasonable. We should assume that dealing with a changing world we must change some of our ways and in the process of that change lots of us will be discomforted accompanied by the sounds of bellyaching.

Lie and spin, lie and spin, lie and spin, and when that doesn't work lie and spin some more.

Just more evidence that liberalism is a mental disorder.

Things your typical California (Democrat) voter either doesn’t know or understand.

2. Fox news rules because it reports the news. Obama and ABC, CBS, NBC, Headline News, CNN, and especially MSNBC should get a room.

3. That capitalism has provided the highest standard of living for the most number of
people in the history of mankind.

4. You really can vote yourself out of a job.

5. People really can and will vote with their feet.

6. How wealth is created.

7. That liberalism is destructive.

8. Why Democrats support our troops – and their opponents.

9. Why profit is good and not a dirty word.

10. Why the word alternative in the phrase
alternative energy really means - not
possible anytime in the foreseeable future.

11. Why your liberal college professor is full of
crap.

12. Why western civilization is superior to all others.

13. Why celebrating diversity is cultural suicide.

14. That the word fascism really applies to socialist political philosophy (yes the Nazi’s
really were socialist).

15. The demand for free money will always be
insatiable (welfare).

16. If you want more of something subsidize it
(again welfare).

17. Most Americans are satisfied with their healthcare.

18. Corporations don't pay taxes, they collect them.

19. If you work for the government you can't pay taxes.

20. Growing government is not stimulative.

The carbon tax scheme is uniformly expected to be a drain on the economy (read: individuals) of several trillion dollars per year.

There is no decent on this important point.

You can spew that 'sacrifice' pablum all you want, but one way or another the citizens of the US will be fleeced out of trillions of dollars per year under this scheme whose only real purpose is to strengthen the choke hold that the federal government already has on the peasantry.

Meanwhile the natural forces at work will change our climate just as they would have, unabated, and just as they have for millions of years.

Ditto.

What this is really about -

Socialism is a philosophy of failure,

(welfare)

the creed of ignorance,

(belief in global warming)

and the gospel of envy,

(punish the successful)

its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.

(Obamas shared sacrifice and economic justice)

EPA May Have Suppressed Report Skeptical Of Global Warming

(CBS/AP/iStockphoto)The Environmental Protection Agency may have suppressed an internal report that was skeptical of claims about global warming, including whether carbon dioxide must be strictly regulated by the federal government, according to a series of newly disclosed e-mail messages.

Carlin's report listed a number of recent developments he said the EPA did not consider, including that global temperatures have declined for 11 years; that new research predicts Atlantic hurricanes will be unaffected; that there's "little evidence" that Greenland is shedding ice at expected levels; and that solar radiation has the largest single effect on the earth's temperature.

Buster, if I question your conclusions and don't share your attitude, I'd never doubt your skill with the ad hominem. If someone's comment is too disagreeable for you, too incompatible with your desired conclusions, say the offending comment is spin, a lie and then say it again. It doesn't cost anything and it's satisfying.

If quoting a passage from a fact check is spin and a lie, it isn't my spin or lie.

Is global warming a spin and a lie? Is Glacier Bay ice rapidly in retreat or not? Why did GW Bush admit global warming was in process? The only serious question is what we should do about global warming. The answer we hear from the right wingers is anything not requiring inconvenience or sacrifice.

Would you be willing to sacrifice a few dozen hydrogen bombs? The TTAPS study (one of the most groundbreaking scientific papers since "On the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies" has proven that detonating enough hydrogen bombs will kick up enough dust into the upper atmosphere to block sunlight the same way condoms block cum.

Buster202 loves to keep putting this up. I like that claim that "Rush rocks and he's right 99.9% of the time." What was he wrong about .1% of the time, Buster? Did he lie about his addictions?

You blowhards love to find each other don't you? You also love to spout nonsense. Keep doing it. You'll keep the Dems in power for far longer than you ever dreamed possible. Keep blaming the straw men for all your problems; that always works.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Virgo

You aren't fooling anyone - it's easy for everyone else to see that inexperienced people are unaware of their obligations, Virgo. You're grumpy about starting a familiar process from the beginning again, but don't let that get in the way of getting on with it. Sour grapes have no place in your daily dealings. Although you may 'own' a project, it's ultimately in the hands of someone else. Deal with it and then move on.
