Were there fines levied in this conviction as well as prison time? If so, where does that money go? thank you for the follow-up.

What a shame...a man who did so much for others. I question if he was lied to prior to his involvement.

I was one of the families who lost there home in this whole process. I tried to buy a house and make a better life for my family and I lose it all..now I have to rent with terrible credit and nothing comes out of this......

Quit being an apologist for this guy. He knew damn well what he was doing. |
||||
Learn to spell, then quit playing the victim. This guy is paying his debt to society for what he's done, now leave him alone. Are you totally blameless? You get what your hand calls for... |

A 17 year old who breaks into a empty house and steals a couple hundred would get more time than this guy. I have no sympathy.

Who did the appraisals?
Who wrote the mortgages? Seems they should be the people that need to answer first!! Same thing happened all across the US, what happened? Oh ya, kill a baby and you get 3 years! |

They'll be joining Dodsworth, Kartesz, and Rice soon enough. Then the lawyers are next.... |
||||
The lawyers? How so? Please elaborate. |

If you knowingly signed fraudulent papers how can you be innocent? I find it impossible to believe you didn't read the faudulent papers you signed regarding the largest purchase in your life. The people involved knew they couldn't afford the homes. If you lost your house in this process, it truly sucks to be you, and I'm sorry you had to learn that doing illegal things results in bad situations sometimes. People need to be held accountable for their own actions. They aren't children and aren't retarded. I hope these people get sent to court next by the taxpayers who are footing the bill. They're just as guilty.

I too need to reply to the comment made by Charles above. The whole idea of this scam was that they would lend the buyer money, the buyer would then deposit it into their bank account, so it made them look like they had more income than reality. The mortgage would be written, then the buy would immediately withdraw the money and give it back to them.
Anyone that would fall for this is completely ignorant and probably isn't responsible enough to own a home anyway. |
