Hey Al Bundy,

I guess Peg took you for all you were worth in the 2nd divorce. Pay cash, not credit. Perhaps you wouldn't be living with mom at 62 if you bought only what you could afford.

If you could read in the article, the man had debts from an illness and from being FIRED from his job. I guess you would rather him be on welfare so YOU could pay his way! I hope you never have to make the choices this man has had to make.
Then he shouldn't have gotten sick!

Maybe people should find out why a few states still allow usury; I smell lobbyists. And then get a law passed to outlaw it in every state. There's no excuse for penalizing people for what they "might" do.If someone is meeting their obligations, they should not be charged a higher interest rate than normal, no matter what. This is outrageous.

The credit card company would still make money if they had 0% interest. They charge a fee to the vendor for each transaction.

I think it's time for us as a GREAT NATION to take back what we lost...

The People, for the people, by the people... Millions of us responsible loan and tax paying Americans...

We shall bring the bank executives and corrupt politicians to there knee's...

If we must shake the tree of liberty with swords of blood and replace it with people who really care then we must do so...

This maybe the only way we have our voice of change in our society...

Those responsible at the top who started this mess shall hang for all to see so this mess never repeats itself on American soil...

Just another matter the government allows to
go on to hurt the american public. They have
there turn in congress with the money they
contribute to congress. The whole idea that you are late a month and all your credit goes to hell where they make it impossible to pay,
thank you congress. The real problem is
the american public does not use there vote
to power against the money that goes into
congress. They are not educated on how the
government works and that we actually we
live in a democracy.

We should not have to pay for his weakness or his inability to keep a job.

You feel sorry for him? YOU cut him a check.

wow, what an absolute humiliation, all your private details with your name and everything splattered on a news site to create fodder for a topix forum.

and this is what he got in return:

"I left two messages with Washington Mutual's media hotline but didn't hear back."

Gee thanks, I'm sure if they hear you are calling on his behalf they will forgive his entire debt.

"In some states, including Florida, a 31.99 percent interest rate is considered criminal usury."

And just what do you call a 400% difference in property taxes? Has the scummy property appraiser, who used tax dollars to pimp the ballot lie about tax relief for all, changed the assessment of properties with bloated values associated with the sub-prime scheme?

Are the millions of renters being treated like anything but illegals without the free health care?

There are plenty of inequities involving people that didn’t buy things with a charge card.

pretty soon we will all have bad credit, and then the banks will have to stop loaning money, or lower their standards. I say everyone should revolt and stop paying bills. They can't foreclose every americans home.

Divorced, bankruptcy, made $200M a year???? Sounds like someone with a lot of issues. But, what did he do with that money that led him to bankruptcy??

Mayo, we're not idiots here. Dont try to make a sympathetic figure out of this person. Many more have it harder with circumstances beyone their control. This guy's fortune is the result of bad personal choices.

Credit card companies and banks now make most of their money from charging fees. They pay for services from the credit bureaus to receive info about their cardholders and when they get news of a job loss, divorce, change of address, nearing your limit on another card, etc, they jack your rates. It's called universal default. It has nothing to do with your payment history. It's outrageous.

All the people who took out equity loans on their homes after the banks pushed harder than drug dealers with their promises of the values our homes never had, should join in class action suits against the banks who gave those loans.
The banks themselves are guilty of fraud, the credit card companies are guilty of false advertising. They lied by giving out the credit no one could ever afford to pay back.
And they knew it.

If you really want to get angry, see the movie "Maxed Out" by Morgan Spurlock. I would have cut up my credit cards after seeing this movie, if I had any.

Emma, are you stupid? He got Fired. Hmmm wonder why? He's been divorced twice, hmmm wonder why? He's filed for bankruptcy, hmmm wonder why. Its clear this guy makes some bad decesions in his life. We all get sick, we have to pay our way. Have him call Obama and get in line for the redistribution.
Loser is what I read!
<quoted text>
He got fired because he worked in the housing industry that tanked thanks to the banks giving credit to those who should not have qualified.
Over 50% of marriages end in divorce; it seems as if this man was a victim of statistics.
As for him making "bad decisions" oh well. The bottom line is that if the banks are charging almost 40% in intrest it is clearly criminal. There is no way he can repay that money in his lifetime at that rate.
I am so glad you are perfect and never had to struggle for anything...makes it easy to judge someone else.

And please don't call me stupid. It sounds childish and I believe we are all adults here.
