What? Demand those who gained the most from investments and sacrifices pay their fair share? We haven't heard that demand for fairness in quite some time. Great letter, Ken.

I love the hypocritical, Socialist/Communistic, Democratic Party with their appropriate Jack-Ass logo. Blinded by their party loyalty they will gladly follow in the footsteps of their past leadership failures, namely the great FDR, and thrust this great nation into another Great Depression. Their Greatness leads only down the road to Socialism. Willingly throwing away their rights for a little security, soothing their consciencees by throwing money at the problem, then blaming everybody else because their plan failed agian. I dont think you ever served this country in the military and I dont think you gave George Bush the same consideration you ask of us. If I saw the bus going off the cliff I'd hit the brakes real hard too, I just wish the Republican/Democrates would hit the brakes harder. NO Obama-Nation, yes I hope his polocy's fail miserably.

How much would be fair? 50 percent or maybe 60 percent? Fair to one is not fair to another. I would think it fair if you were taxed at let's say 75% how do you feel about that?

Fair would be to have a flat tax rate, everyone pays 10 to 15 percent. I can not see how it is fair to have a tax rate that is higher for people that WORKED Harder to get where they are so that it can be given to the WE,WE, generation. What ever happened to the work hard and earn your keep IDEA. People live beyond their means, max out their credit cards and spend money they don't have to keep up with the JONES now expect the rich to bail them out. No matter what you call it, this robin hood take from the rich and give to the poor is SOCIALISM.

This article is calling for presidential support? What happened to presidential support for Bush when he was president? Its because of lack of support we have ended up in a never ending war in Iraq, mismanaged campaigns, and lack of funding for vital military support. Why when there is now a democrat in office is the political left now begging for predential support? Isn't what's good for the the goose good for the gander? We who oppose the president are not wishing the country to fail. I myself am calling for Americans to stand against this administration and calling for lawmakers to impose legislation that will fix this economy, not doom our grandchildren. It is my right as an American to oppose such a government that does not seek to support the ideals of its citizens. I'm tired of a president who would say one thing and do another. I'm tired of a president who refuses to prove to his country that he is legitimate. I'm tired of a president who sees fit to make Americans miserable because of our energy usage. I'm tired of a president who speaks of doom constantly, having profound detrimental effects on the market. I'm tired of a president that cannot manage a cabinet, how can he hope to manage a country. I'm tired of a president that acts as a civil rights leader rather than a leader of a country. I'm tired of your president.

Already policys are changing. Have you seen the amount of pork spending attached to the stimulus bill, probably not. Here's a thought, why give money to companies that have already mismanaged millions, give the money to folks who will pay mortgages, bills, vehicles, etc. This makes no sense. There are some issues our country needs to address, but Obama will run us intio the ground. If Clinton hadn't signed a bill pretty much forcing banks to make risky loans this situation wouldn't have happened.

Just saw the latest on the pork. First he said he didn't have choice "It was left over from last year". Now he wants line by line veto [ This was promised to be done in concert with congress so there would be 'no pork'. Now it's about more power for BO. If BO is pushing Socialism I want him to fail also, you betcha.

Especially after 9/11 we wanted him to succeed. Then we found out that he had lied about why he attacked Iraq. We found out that he was dismantling some of our constitutional protections under the guise of war. We watched that administration give money to Blackwater, Halliburton, and Lockheed to do nothing while the economy was tanking. Jobs were being sent overseas, working people were losing their jobs, calls of warning were being ignored. The list goes on. Why should we support an administration that was purposely destroying the country?

We may not have realized it at the time, but in the period from late 2001-January 19, 2009, this country was a dictatorship. The constitutional rights we learned about in high school civics were suspended. That was thanks to secret memos crafted deep inside the Justice Department that effectively trashed the Constitution. What we know now is likely the least of it.

As for your claim of lack of support for Bush, I recall my friends saying- afer we were told we had to invade Iraq over WMDs- "I hope we find weapons of mass destruction," giving Bush the benefit of the doubt that, indeed, that's why we were going to war. I never heard people say, "I hope we don't find WMDs" or "I want to see the president fail." Yet that's what the real leader of the Republican party- Rush Limbaugh- has been saying about Obama, and conservatives are quick to defend him. If a liberal pundit had said s/he hoped Bush failed, that person would have been called unpatriotic, accused of hating their own country. Those who spoke out against threats to our civil liberties were often accused of supporting the enemy. One woman who wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper, speaking out against the war, had a visit from the FBI on suspicion of "sedition." There were many stories of peace groups and other harmless citizens' organizations being infiltrated and spied on.

Limbaugh, GOP Just Comically Walking Into Every Trap How do you get what’s left of the Republican Party to destroy itself? It sure helps to have some self-obsessed drug-addicted sociopath like Rush Limbaugh as “leader” of the doomed wingnuts! At some point in January, the same Obama strategists who outmaneuvered the Clinton Machine and American Racism noticed that an AM radio jackass beloved by angry white guys in service trucks — who else listens to AM radio, during the workday?— was publicly wishing failure upon both the new Obama Administration and the U.S. Economy. Maybe this bloated oil bag could bring down the entire GOP! Two months later, the plan seems to be working flawlessly. The Obama team says something like,“Hey, Republicans, do you agree with your party leader, Rush Limbaugh, this smarmy sex creep, that America should fail?” And then whatever hapless GOP factotum, such as party chairman Michael Steele, says something reasonable like,“Uh, hell no, and Limbaugh’s an ugly sack of rat shit,” and then Limbaugh bellows on the AM, and then the hapless GOP factotum immediately kisses Rush’s tacky pinky ring, and then David Plouffe puts a column in the Washington Post that he probably wrote six weeks ago, when he and David Axelrod were coming up with this whole funny scheme, while playing chess or something: But instead of rebuking the radio personality or charting their own course, Republican leaders in Washington are paralyzed with fear of crossing their leader. Less than 24 hours after committing the unforgivable sin of criticizing Limbaugh, RNC Chairman Michael Steele felt compelled to publicly apologize. He was not the first and will certainly not be the last. Former GOP congressman Joe Scarborough used his Morning Joe program this morning to just beat the hell out of Steele for being a complete pussy. It was almost — almost — funny enough to justify watching Joe Scarborough. Finally, the very image of Limbaugh — a monstrous, sweating, greedy, fat-fingered Viagra-gobbling sex-tourist Jabba the Hutt figure of vulgarity and revulsion — is, officially, the image of the Republican party. The late-night network comedy talk shows are just loving it: And now the Democrats have this hilarious “apologize to Rush” form letter. Democrats doing something hilarious? Change really has come to America ….

Barney Frank gave Rachael Maddow a great question to ask any Republican that would come on her show "If Government Spending to build a new bomber is considered providing jobs and stimulating the economy, why is Government Spending on a new bridge not considered providing jobs?"

I'm sorry, but folks are completely missing the point of what Rush has said. He's been very clear that he wants the country to succeed. Where do you think his money comes from? If businesses fail, they don't advertise, and that's where Limbaugh makes money. He has stated very clearly (should anyone think to look at the facts rather than listen to a 4.5 sec sound bite) That he DOES hope for Obama to fail on a policy level,(as do I) because his policy changes have been proven to fail in the past, and will irretrievably alter our economic viability.
