Sam you are an asshole.$400 or $40000, what's the difference?! He works just as hard for his $40000 as you do for your $400. Difference is you aren't smart enough or didn't do something he did better to have that kind of money around.

Don't hate and keep your sick envy to yourself. The bottom line is as exyorkcityresidentnt said above. They are all out of control and it needs to stop!

Ex resident is wrong though about the salaries being high. Some aren't worth what they are making, but salaries certainly aren't high. One of the problems is that there is over $200000 spent on the two top positions in each school district, and they certainly are not worth all that money and that is the superintendent and his/her assistant.

Start at the top, that is where the problem is.

GO TO HELL School district officials and York County Tax Board!

Comment from article:

"West York Area School District has lost nearly $350,000 in taxes from the mall over the last two years, Supt. Emilie Lonardi said. It has to be made up somewhere, and that can mean a higher tax rate for everyone."

It's this type of attitude that has this country in trouble. If you lose this money then you reduce your budget pinhead! You don't just raise taxes because it's easier to do than cut the Boy's Football team out of the budget. Get a grip on your finances and cut, cut, cut! Time to vote her out of office West York!

Curry doesn't even come close to paying for his five kids education in the district. It costs about 12k for a kid in the DAHS system. It seems he is about 20k short. Why would he be granted any kind of relief. It is property owners like my wife and I who own property in five districts and have no kids, but we pay far beyond what this little b#tch Curry is paying. It's time the state went toan income based tax and drop the school tax, that way at least retirees and low income people would get a break. It would not change what I pay but I also am not a crybaby like Curry who has been blessed with much and cries now that he has to pay his fair share. Suggestion Curry, sell your house and live within your means. No pity for that loser and his family in over their heads because they can't live within their means.

Appealing your assessment is a real roll of the dice.

The County form warns that the Appeals Board may decrease your assessment or INCREASE it, or it may stay the same.

Enter the crap shoot if you dare.

Most of those whiny rich people that live in million dollar home have come from Maryland. Those people need to understand that PA is a commonwealth state. This means that ever little school district needs to supply their own resources so you may have 10+ in one county. MD has a county public school district that can split their money over the entire county.
If they don't like their taxes move back to Maryland were their 1.5 million house will cost 2 million.
Shut up and pay up you rich pricks

I may be an asshole, but I hope that you live in Dallastown school district right next to this 'rich' guy; that way when they lower the assessment on his mansion because he is a whiny bastard, they increase the assessment on your shanty to make up the difference.

School taxes suck; but we all pay them. It's just easier if everybody pays their fair share. Obviously his ability to pay surpasses that of most people, and if he doesn't like it buy a smaller house.

Just because someone has a $1.5 mil home doesn't mean that $40K isn't alot. You sound like a typical liberal that hates people who make more money than you. The snobs aren't people with money. It's people like you that snub your nose at them because you don't have what it takes to get there and THEN you fall on the "spread the wealth" routine that is Communistic at best. Why don't you open your eyes and see the bigger picture which is that the lower income property owners are paying the same percentage you idiot. RAISING TAXES OF ANY KIND FOR ANY REASON RUINS CAPITALISM!!! It's proven that lowering taxes across the board helps communities because it creates jobs and the Gov't gets their take through volume you Communist!!!

Moving into a smaller house isn't the right answer. Assessing the TRUE VALUE of the home is the right answer which is all the guy is saying. The house ISN'T WORTH 1.5 mil. Why do you communists like to side with the lying Gov't? If you were a Capotalist you would see everything I've written on these two posts. You must be a Gov't worker. Why not try a job in the private sector or is it too much competition for you?

GREAT NEWS - The Dallastown Area School Board voted Thursday night to have full-day kindergarten for the 2010-11 school years; I’m sure all property taxpayers in that school district are excited and thrilled to know their school taxes will increase just to pay for another Liberal Socialist program for societies “Free Loaders”….

Just when will nonsense and crap stop? Why is it my responsibility to now Pay HIGHER School Taxes to support child care for others children?

Ob February 18, 2010 in Austin, Texas Joe Stack felt the federal government especially its tax code robbed him of his savings and destroyed his career. He revolted the only way he felt he could, he took a stance and made a statement. Although I do not condone his conduct I can understand why he did what he did. I ask you, when is enough, enough….. How much must I and others pay to support your family while my and others families suffer and do without because we are mandated and forced to pay for you with unjust school property taxes??????????

One only has to look at the actions of the Dallastown Area School Board who voted Thursday night to have full-day kindergarten for the 2010-11 school years to fully understand Joe Stack’s plight and total dissatisfaction with Federal, State, County and the Local School Taxes which burden the hard working stiff in America.

Joe Stack will not be alone; he will be a martyr to some and some will follow his lead in their own way. This Great Nation was founded on a revolution because of the unjust taxation burden put upon the great men and women who founded this nation and made our America the great nation is once was.

Some of you will say this does not affect me; I do not live in the Dallastown Area School District, true maybe not today but it will come too your school district in the future. Just like schools with swimming pools, one gets it and the rest needs it also.“Keeping Up With The Jones Syndrome”….

No, I am not another Joe Stack but I am a VERY TIRED TAXPAYER who never had children, works hard to provide for my family who again will now suffers more to provide for your family.

No, people like you want to use education as a catch all so you do not have to pay for daycare, you want everybody else to pay for your off-springs upbringing. The problem is only the select few pay the bills in this Unfair Commonwealth, the property owners through taxation of ones property and if I refuse to pay or no longer can afford to pay; my property is taken away by the Government…. Do You Think This Is Fair, more than likely you do.

Our tax system in Pennsylvania is broken and needs fixed as the homeowner can no longer afford to continue to pay higher and higher school property taxes each year. Our legislators in Harrisburg are worthless, I for one will not vote for any incumbent in the upcoming primary.

I want change, fair change where school property tax is eliminated and all funding obtained through a fairer user / sales tax on everything. That way from Welfare Recipient, Illegal Alien to Corporate President everybody pays for goods and services they need or use….

It's typical of noncompetitive organizations like Gov'ts to think like a Communist and raise taxes to get the needed revenue. If they thought like a Capitalist than they would know that lowering taxes creates more revenue. This is proven. Us private sector competitive people have been battling these pinhead communist thinking politicians since the beginning of taxation.

The term revolution isn't the right term. It's rebellion and there has only been one successful rebellion in world history and that was when we defeated the British in 1775 even though they called it a revolution. I know I'm splitting hairs but, it's good to know because rebellions just don't work out the way they started with the exception that I just noted. We just need to elect the right people who think like Capitalists.

I tried that once and all they said was that I filed too late. They had nothing to offer that I first applied two months earlier. Anything they can do not to lower the assessment.

His 40k doesn't even cove rthe cost of educating his FIVE kids in the DHS system, it would be close to 60k. So he is about 20k short. I say send him abil for the difference!

I have paid school taxes for 24 years. I don't have kids. I have received no benefit from these taxes. Why should I pay to educate everyone else's kids?
Who ever came up with this stupid idea to tax property to pay for schools?

Property Tax is the best example of lack of true freedom in America. Try not paying them. Try putting something on your property as simple as an 8 x 10 shed without a permit. Once you obtain a deed or title you are locked in with the Gov't and they own you. Renting is better than owning. Even though the property tax is figured in the rent and you pay "only slightly" more than if you owned the property, you have much more freedom because if you decide to move you deal with the landlord and not the Gov't. Property tax is how the Gov't really owns what you think is yours.

Wow - it doesn't feel good does it. You now have a small taste of what anyone who ever worked for you felt. Good luck with your efforts. Or better yet just turn another quarter into a million and pay your f***ing taxes a*****e.

If you're a typical Aquarian you're often quite idealistic and today is no exception. You're wandering around on cloud nine, especially if you're thinking about a very special someone, and indulging in all sorts of deliciously romantic daydreams. Reality?
