Actions like this should save the State an unknown amount of $$ in advertising. I won't be visiting a state with this type of attitude. I thought the "Visit Michigan" ads were too good to be true.

You missed a great opportunity here. You all could have made this story into a positive and perhaps even helped your local economy.
As food prices are sky-rocketing I guarantee you will begin to see more home gardens. Not only is it economical but a great learning experience for kids. Seniors enjoy the benefits of raised gardens as well. While other communities are coming together to have neighborhood garden clubs you all are more interested in city codes from decades ago?
I would suggest that you all take this opportunity to turn this situation around.

My 9th grade science teacher used to say that at some point people would stop growing grass and flowers and use their yards to grow vegetables instead. I guess he wasn't counting on pea brained city councils and their croanies.

Isn't it very sad that, in spite of the fact that Detroit is an economic disaster area, the message these city officials are sending is "Don't come here, because you will be subject to a dictatorship"? I mean, despite it all, there are people willing to stay in the area and make a go of it, and LITERALLY put down roots, then along comes MUSSOLINI to ruin your day. When Rulkowski is paying this womans BILLS, he can dictate what she does with her front yard.
What a horrible (and further) waste of taxpayers money.
Conviences 1. that it's only ONE OLD UGLY BAT that doesn't like it (out of jealosy perhaps?) and 2. Rulkowski is not an elected official.

YOu will be happy to know that this lady not only fought them about the use of her own property, AND WON, but also they tried to tag her with a violation for her pets (where there was none), and was personally battling migraines and other illnesses, all at the same time.

Such is the determination of the American spirit. We aren't THAT nuts.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Pisces

It's a big change today after yesterday's combustible atmosphere and you're feeling more relaxed and understanding. You're even prepared to forgive someone for what you thought yesterday was a heinous crime, and ready to give them a second chance. However, let's hope that this person deserves your goodwill and is grateful to receive it.
