He's in Iraq; an ID thief strikes. The suspect? Dad

Army Sgt. Aeren Nauman served on active duty for nearly two years, part of that time in Iraq, and even stood to recite the Infantryman's Creed at a memorial service for a fallen comrade.

Who would ever think that a father could do this to a son. It's tragic.

That was my first thought. Send the old man to Iraq in his son's place.

Sounds just like the case a couple of weeks ago where a soldier's wife did the same thing & was charged with fraud.

Isn't it horrible that not only do the soldiers in Iraq have to worry about getting killed but now they have to worry about so-called loved ones stabbing them in the back, back home?

It use to be just "Dear John" letters they had to worry about. Now it's much worse.

The worst crime committed here by the father is the betrayal of his son. This is just so awful I'm really at a loss for words. My heartfelt sympathy to the son.

I think ID thieves should get the same sentence as murders. And, if the thief is family, it should be life. (Most ID theft is done by a family member -- and it goes unreported.)

Greed is a wonderful thing. Dear ol' Dad shouldn't be allowed to count on his fingers given his history in money fraud.

What a shame for Aeren to come home to this trash.

Kind of funny how a couple of weeks ago, when the story was about a woman who did pretty much exactly the same thing to her husband while he was in Iraq, there were hundreds of comments about horrible women, the evils of feminism, how the entire justice system is aligned against men, etc. Now, when there's an article about a soldier's father doing the same horrible thing.....almost complete silence, certainly no posts from those same people who were so outraged when it was a woman who did it. Interesting.
