I have not doubt that was their plan. However, it does not answer the question of how a lender would approve this loan. Obviously it was obtained through fraud. The $660,000 question is, did the mortgage company know that the information was false or did they just not bother to check?

As an investigator that is still looking into these allegation, I agree, did the mortgage company know information on the application were falsefied. The $660,000 answer: It appears these were stated income, stated assets (SISA) loans. The lender is required to contact the employer to confirm borrower has been employed for 2 years or more and that there will be continuous employment. The lender may have not verified that they were employed. One employer listed on the application does not exist. Another borrower never worked for the employer listed on the application.
I agree that they all were in this to benefit themselves. Unbeknow to them, she profitted from their ignorance.
