If the UC employees think that things are bad now with their benefit cuts, when Meg gets into office they'll be even worse. Your jobs, wages and benefits must be cut or there won't be enough money to pay for tax cuts for the rich. Republicans hate you.
And if public employee union creator Jerry Brown is elected, the public employee unions who put his sorry butt back in office will have their unsustainable pensions protected at the cost of higher student tuitions and decreased services for the rest of us private sector serfs.

We believe that our educational system must support all students, not just the few fortunate enough to attend the charter schools... Jack Mallory, Secondary Vice President, GSCFT

This Jack exhibits the entitlement Lib mentality that's raping the taxpayer & bankrupting this Country.

As you watch the ascendancy of China, ask yourself if they have the same entitlement POV our hand wringing Libs display in their please expand our funding in a BAAAD recession pleas.

WTF is a Secondary VP anyway? How top heavy are these goons?

Our superior education results in star women like the one in this video:

It has been remarked that problems won't be solved as long as only Democrats and Republicans are elected.

I would go further, and suggest that no problems will be solved as long as only men and women are elected.

The problem is that gender studies programs, such as the various LGBTQI things, assume that gender exists in one form or another, even if it changes.

However we Prokaryotes (generally known to you as "bacteria") have no gender at all. We reproduce by budding. Thus, we have none of the attitudes and limitations that you gender-defined and so-called "higher" animals have. We can solve problems that you cannot solve. We were here before you, will be here after you, and are present in galactic environments where you could not survive.

Vote Prokaryote!

I was also wondering about the "Secondary VP" title. Is everyone below VP in that organization named a "secondary VP" to enhance their self-esteem? Or do they really have that much middle-management, perhaps subsidized by union dues from hardworking people? Whatever, it sounds wacky.

You could be right, germ. And thanks, by the way, for making my proposal -- sometimes called "extreme" by those wedded to the status quo -- appear positively middle-of-the-road by comparison.

It may indeed be folly to hope that changing the people in charge can possibly improve the outcomes. On the other hand (or pseudopod), a dental assistant once tried to explain the value of flossing one's teeth to me by saying that one important effect of flossing was to disrupt colonies of bacteria that secreted acids and other toxins, which in turn caused teeth to deteriorate and gums to become infected. The point, she said, was never to let the germs settle down to harmful business.

So maybe the independents and third-party candidates -- being merely human, after all -- won't give us any better government than the Demos and GOP have. Maybe the political system we have eventually grinds down or corrupts everyone who comes in contact with it. But, like dental plaque and the bacteria that live in it, maybe we can slow down the process of decay by regularly shaking things up a bit.

Long story short: Despite longstanding distaste for the practice, I finally learned to floss many years ago, and just in time! Guess what? My dental health improved markedly and has been pretty good ever since. Perhaps forcing the Demos and GOP to be out of power for an election cycle or two will help promote the health of our body politic as regular flossing promotes the health of our teeth. If for no other reason, kicking out incumbents and replacing them with independents and third-party candidates will show our political germs that we voters DO have healthy teeth that we are willing to use and preserve.

You make much sense here, especially the flossing part. I had a similar epiphany about 35 yrs ago.
As far as disrupting the two major parties, don't think we stand a chance. Nearly all of the people who vote are heavily polarized between the dems and reps. Those who don't vote are either disgusted with politics in general, or too rich to give a d-a-m-n (Meg) or they are truly clueless. Even with an influx of money the "other" parties do not stand a chance. And when an "other" party candidate does get elected, they will get the cold shoulder unless they play ball. Arnie is a republican. But he wouldn't play ball. The dems tried to slime him with a 20+ yr old charge of groping. He has enough money to suit himself and therefore does not even take a salary for being our gobernator. And what did the legislature do? They turned their backsides to him when he talked budget cuts. This is largely the same bunch that is going to work with Meg? They do not want to talk cuts. In fact in the middle of this recession, they accepted a raise while the rest of us either went on a 4 day work week or lost our jobs entirely. Govt. has gotten out of control. They aren't even embarrassed by their lack of economy anymore as long as the unions and lobbys are happy.

Thanks for the kind words. Hey, if someone as stubbornly opposed to the practice as I had previously been, could finally learn to floss, I am encouraged to hope that the voters will learn the value of overriding their longstanding, status quo voting habits in order to REALLY clean house, from time to time. That won't happen by just letting the Demos and GOP swap seats every few years. They'll only pay attention and respond to losing elections. You know it. I know it. We all know it. So let's act on what we know and hope for the best.

See, ha! My posts are the best, always. No one posts links better than me! Ha! I rule!

Now then, back to how bad the dimocrats are. They are soooooooooo bad.

When I got fired from Toyota, it was the Dimocrats fault. Sure, I was old and didn't do much anymore, but I deserved that job. And I haven't been able to find a good one since. So I've been blaming the Dimocrats, and that works for me.

As you will see here: http://milwaukee.indymedia.org/media/2006/02/...

It's the Republicans that will save us. Have I made my point clear with my links.

Down with Dimocrats. Long live the Republicans. For the People, of the People.

Exactly. I've heard this movie being critisized for this several times. If you want a movie about solving all the problems of our education system, go make one. This movie was about what this movie was about. Period.

Sam Farr is listed as a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. Google Sam Farr DSA member and see what pops up. He is not even a real Democrat! Also he has with his socialistic ideology Ticked off the ones who are going to be in power in November. What does that mean to us? Well if we reelect him, we can count on the budget knife first slashing in our local economy! The DLI, the Naval Post Graduate School, Our Ag industry to name a few! Vote for our local economy! vote for Jeff Taylor!
Brought to you by Republicans, we work hard so you don't have toooo!

Dear Moehopp (if that's your real name),

Actually my mother does feel the same way. She had two children, maintaining the population but not increasing it. You're confusing zero population growth with zero population. Perhaps your problem is a sign of the decline of mathematical education.

If you think the population or the ecological footprint that goes along with it can increase indefinitely, I've got a bridge to sell you.

By the way, ad hominem attacks are a sure sign that you don't have any real arguments.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Leo

This is a great day for fixing things that have gone wrong. If there have been ructions in your relationship with a certain person this is when you can sort things out and get them back on track. If an appliance or gadget is going on the blink, this is your cue to either get it mended or chuck it out and replace it. You may also find time to tidy up your immediate surroundings or take all those bottles and papers to your nearest recycling center. How virtuous you'll feel when it's all done!
