Countrywide was bribing the Bush administrations and the Republican Congress. Countrywide gave millions in donations and kick backs to the Bush administrations Republicans in Congress. Tax payers are paying the price now.

There were four attempts in a total dominant republican congress to reign in Fannie and Freddie, and none of the legislation made it out of either committee in the House or the Senate.

The Democrats then were powerless as they are now to stop any legislation the Republicans wanted to pursue.

I'm not saying the process was corrupt, but it damn sure smells corrupt.

Please, the attempts to reign it in were made by republicans with Bawny Fwank fighting them tooth and nail. Your obfuscation is laughable.

How is Barney Frank fighting against legislation in a Republican controlled House today any different than Barney Frank fighting against legislation in a Republican Controlled House in 2003?

Barney Frank Vote didn't matter then and was of no importance as it has no importance now.

I don't see how Barney's opposition to the Republicans held up legislation in 2003 as it doesn't factor in Republican control today.

What relevance did Barney have in 2003 exactly?

Country Wide Home Loans had more influence on the Republican attempts to reign in Fannie and Freddie in 2003 than Barney Frank, that's obvious.

That's point is clear.

That's an improvement over what Obama replaced, maybe you forgot or were in a coma before he became President, but the Bush Administration was shredding jobs at the tune of 500,000 a month, 6 months running, and 600,00 in Dec 2008.
In the 4 Months before leaving the White House Bush saw 3 Million jobs disappear since 2001 he watched 6 Million redeploy to China.
If not for the hiring of the 1.7 Million Federal Workers mostly for the Department of Homeland Security under Bush, the unemployment rate would have reached 10% in the United State.

Of course the bulk fled right after Obama was elected. His skill level on business management preceeded him. Anytime a tax and spend liberal comes to office the businesses know to pull in their horns, lay off people and ride out the storm till the next republican is elected.
