I wondered this same thing - why has this case been given so much media attention and police, public involvement. I'm thankful for the involvement because justice should be sought and Allison deserves no less. At the same time I do feel for the many other families who have no help or little help from the authorities and media. Each missing case/murder should be top priority! |

Judged: 1 I don't think anyone is saying this case shouldn't be given the priority it has, nor the amount of resources. We're all glad Allison will have justice. Not all missing people are found within 24 hours and some, many are never found. This case has been given so much media attention, police involvement and public interest (because of the media attention) and I think some are wondering why. It's not that we don't want justice for Allison, it just makes you wonder 'why?'. Police smell a rat in many cases, so what makes this different - that's what many are wondering! |

Judged: 1 1 If the woman was a low income woman with 3 daughters in a poorer suburb and the husband was not a Real Estate Manager who didn't own 2 family cars but instead had a cheaper car and poorer job. If they both were struggling financially and the woman was not well known in society or didn't have family members, I just wonder if the media attention and public involvement would be the same. Does it make a difference because Allison was well educated, had many friends, extended family, ballet background, good job, knew several languages etc? I'm just posing the question and wonder if social class has anything to do with public/media attention. |

Judged: 3 3 2 I wouldn't be surprised, given the reports that he'd physically hurt her before and necessitating a visit to hospital, that GBC had a "red flag" next to his name with the cops if something happened to his wife. All it wouldv'e taken is a phone call from him (with his pathetic-sounding-please-feel- sorry-for-me voice) saying that she was "missing" to alert them to something being fishy. Police, except in the case of children, no matter what the socio-economic status, don't as a general rule, search for someone immediately unless they suspect something. You can't factor in the media as it would have been the police who knew first and sent searchers straight out, before the media even knew what was going on....then the media also smealt a rat (or possibly even more). No, the cops knew something was up long before the media got hold of it. |

Judged: 1 1 1 TOO TRUE It's an archaic old fashioned forum model that has moderators, lol. Lot of power-mad control freak wannabee school-teachers slapping people down and removing posts. At least at this site you can say whatever you like |

Judged: 2 2 2 Again the police were suspicous. The scratches on the face, the husband altering his story, the complete lack of involvement with media pleading for public's help. Yes there are people who go missing and are never found however the police are trained to detect lies. When the person who reports the person missing seems suspicious they follow prcesses. The media and public are used to find missing people and to rattle suspects. This case will continue to have ongoing police/media interest until the police have achieved their goal. Arrest and charge with murder not manslaughter the person involved. |
