So now the municipality says they own the land 7' from the curb? OK, then diminish their property and school taxes accordingly. I doubt Drummondville is going to be installing a sidewalk there any time soon. And if they do on purpose on that street and not others, I'd sue.
I hope the codes person is also diligent in making sure there are no cars w/out license plates, campers, trailers and boats parked in driveways for extended periods of time.
No trampolines, inflatable bounce things, swingsets and other things in the front yard.
Make sure there are no wild flower gardens, grass over 3 inches long, or stone instead of grass.
Make sure the grass is a deep vibrant green, no dry or brown allowed.
Also, let's do code inspections on the homes/properties of every single person on the city council, make sure they are up to code.
