Two longstanding Detroit traditions - the riverfront fireworks and the Thanksgiving Day parade - will disappear if the city doesn't get outside funding, Mayor Dave Bing said Friday.

It's always cold and nasty anyway. I can just as easily watch the Macy's parade on the 22nd. Santa can't be in two places at once.

Not an issue here, I refuse to even enter or spend money in Detroit for any reason at all. Since Granmole screwed everyone out of the state fair why not T-day and the fireworks? I don't know about anybody else but I am sick of my money getting sent down to Detroit and for what? The only draw back is for the younger generation will miss out on what it was like "back in the day". Just another "sympathy" ploy as even the Governor is sick of the city council and Bing ain't got the manhood to straighten it out..........it is what it is!!
