whatever you may think or your perjudices might be.. Islam is blending into the French landscape nicely. A large mosque was inaugurate near my home last month and quie a few others are being completed http://tinyurl.com/ccpc36r , there is a Ramadan dept with festive food in most super markets. Religion at large, whatever the confession is no longer taboo, seeing the Frenhc historical anti-clericalism recede a bit is a rather positive development in my opinion

It wasn't that long ago when a muslim who randomly killed Jews and other French nationals was defended by his own family.

That's not my prejudice, but that of your fellow muslims.

By definition God is omnipotent and omniscient.
Anything from God would be clear, explicit and unambiguous.
God would not send a message which could split those receiving it into 70 plus sects, each intent on killing the others as apostates.

There are bad apples in every barrel.

Tell us about all these killings happening in the States, some of them against religious groups: Jews, Hamish, Sikhs, etc...

Is that good for you.

Should we judge America by that, you think?

Shall I be as prejudiced as you and claim that all Americans are barbarian killers of innocents as well?

one of your fellow americans, for no apparent reason, killed at least 6 sikhs ans shot two policemen... certainly not prejudiced. Or just misinformed.. Guy thought they were muslims because of the turban ?

The answer to that is simple : 1 Merah, several millions peaceful French muslims. No longer immigrants but fellow citizens, for several generations now and on their way to recognition... looking around me it means some of my school mates, my baker, my doctor, some fellow workers, some good friends too.. and my partner. Some are religious some less so, I don't feel threatened by any of them.

... but the "reason" most muslims kill -- murders ranging from from jihad to so-called honor killings -- is very apparent: islam!

In fact, sunni muslims are now responsible for about 70 percent of last year's terror killings, a figure very close to the percentage of French muslims now celebrating ramadan.

"French national identity must integrate Islamic culture"?

So why must the French identify with islamic culture when French law stipulates that anyone living in France who refuse to become French can be deported?

Or has that changed since the last presidential election?

French People Overwhelmingly Reject Immigration and Islam

A recent public opinion survey in France produced some interesting results.
On a certain number of points, French society has moved considerably to the right. That is borne out on the question of safety: 56% of the population agrees, according to IFOP, with the statement: "You don't feel safe anywhere" (+6 points in one year; +16 since 2006).

...for almost 7 in 10 French people (66%), "there are too many immigrants in France". Finally, the rejection of Islam has never been so firm: 76% of the population thinks it "is spreading too much in France"; 86% are opposed to the state participating financially in the construction of mosques…
