It was a conservative (?) Ronald Reagan who granted amnesty to what was supposed to be 3.2 million ILLEGAL ALIENS. It ended up being just under 10 million.

It was G.W. Bu$h, another conservative (?) who wanted to grant amnesty to more than 12 million ILLEGAL ALIENS. The outcry of the American voters was the only thing that stopped him.

The "INSANITY" of non-enforcement of our Federal immigration laws spreads across both parties but actually tilts more to the right.

The ONLY thing that will stop another amnesty is for voters to let their senators and representatives know they will be tossed out of office if they support ANY form of amnesty and if they don't start demanding that our immigration laws be enforced.

The ILLEGAL ALIENS of today come here to pick the pockets of American taxpayers.

100 years ago people didn't come here to steal jobs by under cutting wages. Nor did they come here to illegally collect from taxpayer funded social service programs.

The immigrants of the past were happy to assimilate into the American culture. They did not demand the right to fly the flag of the country they left. They learned English and were proud to speak it. Not so the ILLEGAL ALIENS who break our laws today.

My suggestion is to make the employers and landlords who cater to ILLEGAL ALIENS pay to send them back to their country of origin.

150 yrs ago immigrants came here to steal land and cut Native Americans & Southwest Mexicans throats. They did it under the flag of the US, they even shot at their own flag when killing Natives [sand creek, colo] Nice legacy never mentioned in history books.

First off, I'd like to say how much I appreciate a "non hyphenated" American. This IS America and it becomes your home when you become a legalized citizen. To carry another Country's name with "American" is an insult and I think it serves only to stir the pot of racisim.

Secondly, I am not anti-immigrant in anyway whatsoever. I am greatly opposed to illegal entry into my Country and consider illegal entry an act of "invasion". It's way past "time" to deport illegals and their families. We should definitely quit giving VISAs out as if they were candy and I would also like to see the numbers of immigrants getting citizenship cut in half (if not lower) until we gain control over our issues.

Perhaps you need to educate yourself on the numbers here. An uncontrolled flood of illegal immigrants is one major reason for necessary legislature that Americans want enforced so that all WE have worked for does not get sucked from under us - we have children who need the chance at "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". No one should have the right to force their way into this Country just as much as no one should have the right to force their way into your home. Think about it.

Immigration is not the problem, ILLEGAL immigration IS!

How about getting a realistic head count of how many millions are in this country?

That was then, this is now.

What was done then was not done TO anyone alive today, nor was it done BY anyone alive today.

Sad as it may seem to some people allowing millions of ILLEGAL ALIENS to steal from current American taxpayers will not right a wrong that occurred 150 years ago.

Comparing illegal immigrants of today are an insult to the immigrants that made this country what it is today.
