What people from Denmark and elsewhere wanted was a dialogue ... person to person ... with individuals, but noone could speak like individuals because it is like noone is used to speaking like that.

Only in the past few days have Muslims started actually talking to us ... and of course a few people in the West will not yet trust this ...

Of course there are always trouble makers ... people who just like to "stir things up" ... but there are very very few ... and most debate well and come up with some real good arguments that are never really answered properly ..

And there are also a few people who have now started making more "human" threads where people just talk to each other like human beings and leave out religion, which is rather refreshing ... and perhaps we can go from there and find some understanding .. without all the time being referred to the Koran ...(no offence please)..

First of all, you should read the posts of Mr. Cool, Emily, Mike and Co. then tell us if we have the right to feel offended. It is completely the other way around. Anti-Muslim bashers came here for one purpose only and that is to insult and mock the prophet of Islam. Yet they ironically ask Muslims to ignore all of that mockery and answer all of their hateful questions. Don't you honestly realize that is doing no good for any mutual understanding?. You are furious because of the Qur'an quotes?. Well allow me to say that we Muslims look at the Holy Qur'an as our constitution..it is the book that governs all of our lives as I am sure you have your own constitution. Muslims quote the Qur'an because they believe in it and want to live by it. I think you should know that.

I have no problem whatsover in having any dialogue with any westerners. After all, I have live lived among them for a number of years and have close friends who are westerners. The problem I see here is the bashers here are leaving no room for anyone to have any meaningful dialogue. They intentionally break all its rules.

This is how you would learn how to tolerant with other. Because muslims were never tolerant towards other religion and hence wish badly.

You just stated in another post on another thread that you did not think Hamas is equal to terrorism, and that Mrs Farahat, the Member of Parliament for Gaza City, a known supporter of terrorism as she sent her 3 sons to their deaths .. encouraged them to die ... and would send her last 3 sons and grandsons the same way according to her own words in an interview ...(nice ole granny)... you likened them to people who fought Nazis in 2nd world war ... HA!!

And then you try to portray yourself in other places as a decent person who just would like to discuss with likeminded intelligent decent people ... when you are just another fanatic really??... How on earth is anyone going to have a discussion with someone of your mindset ..

I saw some of your posts .. and thought ... well, there is a sensible guy ... someone you can talk to ... and then WHAM ... your "real self" comes out in all its glory ... praising suicide bombers as martyrs ...

Half the world, including most of Europe was against George Bush's war in Iraq .. just like your leaders do things you dont agree with, our leaders do likewise ..

The difference is ... we demonstrate and are very vocal in our disagreements with our leaders, whether they are Christian or not (that is completely besides the point)...

And what on EARTH has a few cartoons published by an independent newspaper in Denmark, uncontrolled by the government, we do not have censorship in Denmark ... what has that to do with the war in Iraq???

Were anyone actually killed due to the cartoons, other than people in violent demonstrations in Muslim countries?? Which has nothing to do with cartoons, just extreme reactions ...

Why do you keep associating fanatacism with the the right to fight zionist occupation?. I don't understand your mentality which does not recognize the right of the people to use arms against a brutal occupation that continues till this day to violate all the human rights known to mankind!. We are not the first people nor the last to fight a millitary occupation.

It is actuallty the armed resistence that forced the world to recognize that we have rights just like the rest of the world. yes its nice to make fun of oneself...it makes one relaxed and composed.... what worries me is when comics and cartoons read by your kids will be their truth and realities when they become adults and its where problem of sensitivities of tribes creates fire and potential chaos... remember the song ... i started a joke which makes the whole world... crying...but i did not see that the joke was on meeeeee.....

Generally the children do not read that political satire cartoons. They are meant for an adult audience.

I don't think that this all discussion will come up with something useful if we still cite some details or preconceptions and conclude our discussions with overall ideas.

For instance, Mr. elewm thinks that Islam is that implemented in KSA. You can't take the faults of any Arab country and say: look at Islam.

And supposing that KSA banns the Bible (which if true I reject it), this is not the case in other Arab countries.

In my country Lebanon, we live with the Christians and respect each other. You may see a church near a mosque. HA ??

We, Muslims, are allowed to marry a Christian or Jewish woman - it is clearly declared in the Quran. And if our religeon calls for rejecting you guys, this wouldn't be part of our belief. In Lebanon Muslims may marry Chistian women and nothing prevents them from doing that. A woman may go to church, pray as she likes, and at the same time, her husband may be praying his five prayers and reading the Qur'an. In the end we have to accept each other. Suppose guys you are children of mixed religions (Christian woman and Muslim man), what will be your opinion about what is going on in the world today. Please put yourself in this position before issuing any personal opinion.

You have to bare in mind guys (Muslims, Christians, and Jewish): Religion is infallible, sacred, and true. People are the ones who misinterpret it in a false way. No one is all white or all black, people have to be some where between the two colors. Weighing the advantages and disadvantages of things is essential.

So, there is big difference between criticising Muslims and criticising Islam (the same for other religions). There is a big difference between criticising the followers of Mohammad (PBUH) for (supposingly) misjudging issues, and criticising the prophet himself.

You have to be specific !! DONT throw charges here and there ... STEREOTYPING IS NOT ALLOWED.
