This is what disgusts me about Marti Gras.
Lent is a time for increased prayer, repentance and fasting.
To usher-in this holy time with a period of debauchery and drunkenness is simply not Christian.

There are Mardi Gras places and there are fastnacht places. Mardi Gras places would include New Orleans, Venice and Rio de Janeiro.
