Yup, i believe it. El Paso might as well be Mexico. Other parts of Texas you see the American flag everywhere. You see the Mexican flag more here then anywhere else.

Besides Voter Turnout- what part of this study really makes sense. This city - like many other cities- just don't vote.
I haven't bought fireworks in 15 years. You can't fire the fireworks in the city limits anyways.
I don't need a US flag to show my loyalty to this country. I wore the flag on my shoulder in 3 different countries. I'm sure alot of Vets feel the same way.

What does that say about New York?

Ever been to Portland, you idiot? It's one of the most liberal cities in the country. This "study" was flawed.

That's very true - this City is more concerned with promoting Cinco De Mayo then our own 4th of July, Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, etc.,- For those of us who ARE U.S. CITIZENS and were born in this BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY it's time to show your PRIDE and LOYALTY to OUR COUNTRY! I am very proud of my Hispanic roots and heritage, but my loyalty is to my country...The U.S.A. The country that has given me every opportunity to succeed in this world, and the country I have served honorably for 11 years. John Cook is nothing more then Mayor of North Juarez (aka El Paso)- he's more concerned with what Juarez wants and needs. God Bless America!!!!!!

Very true, El Pasoans are patriotic, but their loyalty is to Mexico, most 'native El Pasoans' are anchor babies, born to parents from south of the border, who have their heart in Mexico, and their pocket books in the US. The last time I was there, it was rare to hear English being spoken, and with all of the juarenses moving in because of the drug war, it'll get even worse.

It wasn't a 'study' but rather a survey.

Everybody loves Mexico here, so no surprise.in walmart they sell more Mexican flags than US flags. during this world cup(soccer) i saw few people paying attention or wearing US jerseys when US played Ghana, but everybody was wearing Mexican jersey's when Mexico played Argentina... and i could go on and on.....It doesn't mean that all Hispanics are not patriotic but alot of them prefer Mexico over US at least here in El Paso.

Amen to that!By the way, I have Mexican relatives who are waiting to immigrate to the US the right way, and are getting pretty upset with their compatriots who think that by coming here illegally, they will benefit from amnesty. Why do we allow so many illiterate peasants from south of the border to come here? they add nothing to our economy but depressed wages and a sense of entitlement, meanwhile, educated Mexicans like those family members waiting to come here have to prove that they would be an economic gain for this country.

No, the truth was stated. By the way, in Mexico, it is considered uncouth to fly their rag of a flag, or wear it on a jacket or t-shirt, they come here and all of a sudden show their misplaced patriotism for the country they just left for better opportunities here, in the USA! They are an ignorant bunch.

Cinco De Mayo is celebrated all over the country. So that's not an excuse. They have it in places where Hispanics don't even live. They barely celebrate in Mexico- which means it's a US thing. Sounds like St. Patricks Day.
