Special 'thanks' to councilman Thomas Kanuck, Council president Aaron Durso, councilman Steve Lusky, and anyone else who are responsible for this upcomng 'CHRISTmas EVENT in Birdsboro, for the 'first time'!!!!
My husband & i have an Apple Orchard 'ministry' outside of Birdsboro, off rt.#345. We are interested in knowing how we can make a contribution of 'apples' for the 'food drive'.

Thanks to Boro Council for not giving in to political correctness gone amuck. Birdsboro is a great and welcoming community for all. Having a Chistmas event in town doesn't change that. This sounds like it will be a great event. And all would be welcome to enjoy the festivities whether or not they celebrate Christmas personally. I don't personally celebrate or approve of Halloween. But I am not calling for Boro Council to cancel or change the name of the Halloween parade. And thus if Birdsboto wants to have a Christmas event, people need to put their personal differences aside and enjoy the Christmas event with everyone else. If they are that bothered, they can stay home and organize their own event, which I'm sure the local leaders would welcome.

I fail to see what the fuss is about. If it IS Christmas, what's wrong with using the word to celebrate the holiday? If it's Halloween, say Happy Halloween. If it's Haunukkah, say Happy Haunukkah. I'm with Steve on this one, just call it what it is and leave the PC crap at home.

PS...I am not one of the bible thumpers who think they are such big winners here. I am simply an advocate for common sense.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Scorpio

Be careful how you handle a certain someone today because their mood is little short of incendiary. They'll jump down your throat if you dare to disagree with them, and then accuse you of being a wimp if you decide that it would be better to agree with everything they say. You can't win! If they really get on your wick, you'll have to give them a piece of your mind, even if it is supposed to be the season of goodwill to all men. Huh!
