Commend? Nice. And don't say that was a typo either, the "d" is the key upon which your left middle finger rests and the "t" is to the left index finger's 1 o'clock. That's a brain-o. Also, somebody in journalism should have enough seasoning to them to understand that you have to have thick skin. Not in the sense of these porky kids, but metaphorically. Then again, you aren't a journalist at all, you're a teacher. Which means what? That you weren't quite skilled enough to teach English? Loser. That's all I have to say. By the way, before you blast me for my typos understand this: I'm a real journalist. My editor handles the typos. Really? It's 3 or four times.....not 3 or for....

Not "3 or for" (sic)

Are you truly a "real journalist" or do you just write snotty pieces for some inconsequential blog? My guess would be the latter. Anyone willing to step into a classroom every day to educate our children is not a loser, especially in the battlegrounds our schools have become. I look forward to a response from Graham Rouse and hopefully the three students in the article. Journalism Doer, your nitpicking adds nothing to this discussion. YOU should sit quietly on the sideline and be content to watch the game.

Well, honestly I see nothing wrong with this artical. If they were brought up to beileve in God, then that's their problem. And if you're all wondering why us "liberals" and "non-believers" are becomeing just so angry about this particular peice I will explain... Everytime we, "rebels," comment with something as simple as, "While I don't believe in God, I still think what these teens are doing is nice," someone who is just one helluva perfect soul, decides for us, what we should beileve in. Saying things like, "you will find god," to a liberal/non-believer will get you one big kick in the teeth with our science and evolution. So it's best to keep your religious rifles down people. We don't what a fight.

Your science and evolution is not the answer and I will pray for you as you will burn in hell forever if you don't believe....I will pray for you.

You most certainly will NOT "burn in hell forever if you don't believe...". In the end, our God is a loving and forgiving God.

Yes, he is most certainly a loving God but please don't confuse the Word... Rev. 20:15, And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. We all have a choice whether to accept or reject Him and His word but in the end, it's all that matters as to what you believe!!

Can they respond to a personal attack without getting personal? Can they justify this huge Lenten sacrifice? Or must they rely on judge it icons and an abuse button? I want to know, Mister Journalism Teacher. Are you teaching them anything except "Be polite"? I may not be one of the three kids from the article, but as a high school student, i believe i can speak on their behalf. As a man of faith, I believe that it isn't a question of whether or not religion is true and how you can defend your faith, but rather how you can make heaven on Earth. As christians, these kids are leading model lives that should be replicated by all. Not necessarily assuming that everyone should give up facebook, but that everyone should not be submissive to the peer pressure and media stereotypes of the day. These three kids are showing their faith by giving up something that was a major part of their social lives. Can they justify this huge sacrifice? Yes. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice in giving his life. By giving up something important in our lives, we realize just how much jesus cared for us and loved us. Giving up our little day to day obsessions are nothing compared to what Jesus gave up. SO, these kids don't have to rely on "judge it" icons and "abuse buttons" but rather, they can rely on something that is there when no one/nothing else is, their god. What do you have to rely on sir? One way to make heaven on Earth is to treat others the way you would want to be treated. Would you want some random guy questioning your faith and making degrading comments? No. It is an unhealthy lifestyle to degrade others in order to feel better about yourself. To answer another one of your questions. Can they respond to a personal attack without getting personal? Yes because they know to love your neighbor, love your enemies and, the ultimate "f" word, forgive. Can you do all of these things sir? And finally "Yawn Whatever", If the only thing that their teacher can teach them is to "be polite", then he can say that he was a great teacher and a positive influence on their lives. The gift of politeness can move mountains and by doing so, he has given them the gift of life because politeness gets you much farther in life than opposite. Friends, jobs etc. come easier with politeness. But more importantly, one feels good about themselves. I hope this answers your questions because God only knows that you, my friend, are searching for answers.

I want to know, Mister Journalism Teacher. Are you teaching them anything except "Be polite"? So you're going to sit at home on YOUR "fat ass" and judge high school students for trying to do something good for their faith and themselves? Fine, then I'm going to judge you. My best guess is that you are some 40 something loser with a mediocre education attempting to prove to themselves and other world of warcraft buddies that they know all there is to know about life. Guess what no one cares that you don't believe in the Catholic faith or that you think you have the ability to judge people just because you've got access to a computer. If you have the time to sit around and wait for someone to respond to your nasty little posts then I'm guessing you didn't get enough love from mommy as a child?? And yes this is personal, post a picture of yourself hot stuff, I would just looooove to see for myself how much you need to slim down! Oh and if you're waiting for Kirby, Ben or Mr. Rouse to respond don't hold your breath. They have lives.
