Fireworks Tents Sprout Up As Independence Day Nears

Yeah I can't wait for my moron neighbor to start shooting off his hundreds of dollars of fireworks all hours of the day and night. It's get kind of annoying not to mention a complete waste of money

I enjoy the fireworks on the 4th, and I don't mind watching them in the evenings while sitting outside on other nights....if he wants to spend his money on a free fireworks display for me, have at it. The things I get tired of is bottle rockets all damned day long, and I don't mean on the 4th, it's every flippin day!

Yea I can't wait for the dozens of stupid hoosiers that surround me to set the wooded areas in our subdivision on fire and subsequently my house on fire this weekend! With the dry spell we have and the extreme heat over the next several days....the entire region will be nothing but a tinderbox. I wish Jefferson county would BAN them this year!

If you can't take a day (or week) to celebrate the fact that you live free in the greatest country on earth, then move. The other 99.9% of us are going to have a great time annoying you for the next week or so....

If people could be cautious, courteous and respectful, I have no problem with fireworks. There has been 3 houses burn down in the last 10 years in our subdivision due to careless use of fireworks). There are morons all around us that think it's funny to shoot off large mortars and bricks of firecrackers at 3 a.m. Unsupervised kids roam the streets with handfuls of bottle rockets having bottle rocket fights and shooting them off at passing cars. One year a kid across the street shot off a mortar round and it fell over, streaked up our driveway between our cars and blew up on the brick fassad above the garage.

Yea, this is what I call celebrating our freedom. It's just an excuse to get drunk and act like a dumba$$.

We will be in EXTREME drought conditions by Friday and with no rain in sight and 100+ degree temperatures for at least the next 7 days, things will only get worse and irresponsible people will end up ruining someone or someone's families life! It's not worth it!

I could not agree more. Fireworks should be banned this year due to the extreme drought.

I'm not just trying to just save my home or my neighbors home, I'm also trying to save these idiots from themselves. If you throw a lit cigarette out of car window and it catches a field on fire, YOU can be charged with negligence for starting that fire. If you innocently set off a bottle rocket and it veers into your neighbors house and burns it down with everyone inside, YOU can be charged with manslaughter.

There are responsible people out there who can use fireworks safely. It only takes 1 out of every hundred to ruin it for everyone else or destroy someones livelyhood.

We've been having our 4th of July celebration (with fireworks) for over two decades. I love fireworks. However, I've not seen conditions this dry to my knowledge. With that in mind we will be careful as possible this year. The fireworks tent at FF and W volunteered not to sell any rocket type fireworks due to the weather.

But given my knowledge of the low humidity and dry fuel conditions I'd say it's a given we'll see a handful of brush fires. I know several cities are canceling their display this year,....but I'm more worried about kids with bottle rockets.Just be careful out there.

Hey azzhat WTF was that little dig about? It's a thread about fireworks. We were all conversing about fireworks and the hazard they present to our dry lawns and dry brush.
