Abe Giles, there are so many stories about him. I remember when the NCAA had its semifinals at the Hartford Civic Center and the cost of parking became a scandal. The national media could not believe that one man could have stuck up the entire process and that man was Abe Giles. So, enought puff pieces on Abe Giles, how about something that lays it out in detail, both good and bad. It is called journalism. Surely the Courant has not laid off all of the reporters who know more about Giles than Cohen.

Giles seems to have a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde thing going on. Unfortunately, his bad side appears to overshadow his good. Someone give him $100,000 to go away, please. "Park" his ideas somewhere else. Georgia, maybe? But, not in CT; especially, not in our capital city!

Well, better to be your own man than to have been bought and sold by lobbyists or other politicians!! I say VOTE FOR GILES!! This was a very good article. I would never vote for Giles, simply because he doesn't know how to accompish anything in the legislature...but this was a good, balanced article.

True, Abe Giles is a lazy, crooked opportunist. But let's not forget how the system works. Politicians are ELECTED, not appointed.
So don't blame Abe. He's just doing what he knows how to do, which is to live well off the public dollar. Blame the knuckleheads who vote for him ... and there are apparently enough of those that he kept getting elected!
