This Sun-Sentinel article is dated tomorrow...

No one seems concerned about the iilegal and dangerous fireworks set off every holiday. The retired fireman down the block from me sets off cases, literally cases of them directly opposite my house. The wind blows them onto my (unfortunately) flat roof, so I have to be up there to defend the place. The police say "call us', and when I do, guess what? I don't want anyone to get killed, but I don't mind a blown up finger now and again, as long as it's not mine.

I have found a way for the Sun Sentinel to survive! This article is dated tomorrow which means that you must finally have people who can see the future. Now start publishing tomorrow's winning lottery numbers a day early and even the illegal immigrants who can't read will buy this crappy paper.

The State is in the pockets of the "legal" fireworks lobby. These stores sell fireworks to people under the guise of signing a paper that says they swear the are legally allowed to buy the stuff. Only problem is 99.5% of them are signing a lie. No one qualifies to legally use this stuff. Agricutural Use my buutt. Local cops turn the other way, yet they get all concerned when someone gets hurt.
ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) should stake out these places and lock up a few hundred dads who are teaching their kids that laws are for other people. Confiscate all the fireworks, pile them on a barge and set it off all at once. That will save the budget spent on fireworks.

The whole thing is sad. An accident is an accident. It is a shame for the family. This is one of those stories where people really don't need to rip into the guy as much as they are. Condolences.

why do you people have to make fun of such tragedies? this guy is a father of 2 youngsters for goodness sake.

it seems that only 5 states, only in the northeast, have laws against these fireworks. why is it that only in the northeast?

"The professional grade, mortar-type fireworks Turner was using are legal to buy, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said, but such explosives are meant to be operated by professionals."

Then why do they not require a documented license to use these explosives before purchase??

Some rules need to change!

Firstly, fireworks are explosives and dangerous and should not be used by backyard folks who just want a thrill. Especially the professional grade that this bigshot used . Secondly, he was a mover; meaning he ripped off thousands of people as all movers do these days. Karma's a real B, know what I mean?

Too bad the guy had to die to make a point, but he did it to himself. I have never understood the celebration with fireworks obsession. It is just i dio ts on parade. Grown men shooting off bottle rockets and mortars is a sign of arrested development. Don't forget the crazies who fire their guns in the air.

BTW, riding a motorcycle in a parade is not a source of civic pride, as mentioned in this article. Just 40,000 a holes saying look at me.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Sagittarius

You're in a strange mood, Sagittarius. You're feeling impatient and cross, and nothing is quite right. No wonder, with Mercury and Mars retrograde, under a Full Moon lunar eclipse! But is it necessary to be quite so contrary, so determined to do the opposite of what's expected of you? Try to sort out the problem sooner rather than later, then do something energetic and therapeutic so you can burn off your nervous energy. Then you're all set for a great New Year's Eve!
