3 words for Havlat "SHOOT-THE-PUCK". Your getting paid to score goals! I guess he was satisfied with the 1 goal he scored. Here we go again with the lack of offense.
The Blues had more jump and outworked/outplayed the Hawks. They wanted the 2 points more than Chicago.Toews line was shut down. Not a lot of room in the passing/shooting lanes. I was dissapointed in the effort.Lalime could only hold the fort for so long. Now you have the Wild tonite good luck scoring goals...

This team is the 3rd worst in the conference (only 1 point from being the 2nd worst) and 5 games under .500. How John McDonough can say that he's very happy with the team is beyond me. Once again, no playoffs -- they are now 8 points out with many teams to climb past.

Hey Babbit the Hawks are 27-26-6. I'm no math major but that doesn't look like 5 games under .500...

Bryan:If the Hawks were 28-0-33 would you still look at them as a team 5 games under .500? Even though they would have 69 pts. and be in seventh place in the playoff race?

At least a team picks up a point for an overtime loss. Sometimes our minds go back to the old tie column and we forget that column is now OL's. After the disasters of recent years, big improvements are positives. This team is so much better than last year at this time. I guess with sellouts, a renewed excitement about the team and a potential great future would make management happy. We all want post season as fans and so does Blackhawk management, obviously. The injuries set this team back, as we all know. Another jump in improvement next season will put the Hawks in the playoffs. Finally, there is something to build on. I still say GO HAWKS!

You seem to be another that wants and expect immediate results. The Hawks are one of the youngest teams in the league, they lso have a tremendous amount of talent. Give it a yetar or two and they will be going DEEP into the playoffs contending for the cup. Things do NOT happen overnight, they take a little time to develope. The Hawks will be in the playoffs next year and for many years to come. Talented players from around the league no longer will be avoiding the "Plague" of Wirtz because the "Old Man" is gone. They are on the right track for the first time in a very long time.

If you're not going to count OT losses, then you cannot count the Hawks' 6 OT wins either. So their "true" record is 21-26-6-6.

..the thing that bothers me is that the team is still trying to hit their stride and get comfortable with their linemates. The other teams are in the playoff push and hit their strides a while ago. Crossing my fingers.

If the Hawks were the ninth seeded team and 8 pts. out they'd have a shot but at 13 it's a long shot...

Babbit all you have to do is look at the rules of NHL hockey. If a team goes to OT and they lose the game they get 1 point. They did lose the game but since it was in overtime and they get a point it does not count towards their regular losses. IF the team wins the game in OT they get 2 points and the win counts in the win column. The math is right if you don't like it complain to the NHL, I am sure that they are going to listen to you or me on that. So by NHL standards a OT loss does not count in the loss column because of the point that the team is awarded. And according to the NHL the Hawks have a winning record, they are over .500
