10 games now we've lost. Most due to third period disasters and lack of offense. I'm at a lost for words at this point. There's nothing else to be said that hasn't been said already. Everyone has made valid points. This for me is by far worse then the fishstick era...at least we had Palffy scoring 48 and 46 goals...

Be patient fellow Isles fans. I know that things look bleak right now but it will get better. Looks like we have a real chance at the first or second pick in the draft and Okposo, Bailey, Comeau, Bergenheim and Tamby are all playing valuable minutes and getting experience. I've been an Isles fan since '72 and I don't mind being a laughing stock for a few more years while we build through the draft. We did it in '72 and ended up with 4 cups!!It will happen again. Keep the faith! And trust me, we will win 4 more cups before the Rangers ever win another one.

Two years ago the Chicago Black Hawks looked were the laughing stock of the league. Before Crosby and Malkin the Penguins were the joke of the NHL. Both Chicgao and Pittsburgh stuck to the rebuilding plan by exhibiting patience. If the Islanders remain patient, and draft well their fortunes will indeed change for the better. Gordon's system has little to do with team that lacks talent. This year was written off before it started. It makes little sense to spend money like the Rangers (they blew a 4 goal lead to Washington at the the SEX Palace aka MSG last night) and dwell in mediocrity at best evey year.
You're so right! The babies in here don't know what they're talking about

Being a Season Ticket Holder from the good ole days, I knew a long time ago that it would turn out this way...Even when they made the playoffs a few times, they seemed to think that was the main goal !!! Bulldoze everything away... There a joke !!!

I was at the Thrasher game using tickets I got for free because I gave to a food drive. Amazing how easy these tickets are to come by. I can remember just before Peca and Yashin got here, a balloon would fly around the Coliseum and drop free tickets each night during the intermissions.

Maybe we can choose somebody besides DiPietro to build this team around. He's becoming the Chad Pennington of the New York Islanders...getting hurt all time...except he's never taken us anywhere in the playoffs. I'm not looking forward to hearing about how uncertain everyone is about his status for the next few weeks. Just rest him. There is nothing to play for, except beating the Rangers on Monday.

Last I checked, the Isles had a winning season and playoffs the season before last. And let's see, they made the conference finals in '93, that would also fall within the 'last 20 years'. Rag fans like you need to wait until the rags have won something before taunting any other team. How long did you go without playoffs before you stumbled upon queen henry? And how is he doing for you this year? And before you point to this year's standings, remember that the rags have more trouble scoring than the isles and their 1st place status is as a result of playing 10 more games than the rest of the league to start the season. Have fun crashing at the end of the year.
By the way, you seem to like denis potvin....now he's in the hall of fame, how is that no-name ranger who's career he ended? Where is he these days? Didn't do much after that hit did he?? HAHAHA! Potvin rules!
