Study detects bias in LAPD

This is quite a surprise, that a white liberal Yale economist hired by the ACLU should come up with such damaging conclusions from statistics. I'll commission Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Reilly to review the same statistics and see if they draw different conclusions. Sure, there's racial bias in the LAPD, just like there's racial bias among society, among minorities (believe it or not), and in every segment of society, even at Yale. But leave it to this particular author to entitle this nonsense as she did. Of course, the media has no bias against the LAPD, have they?

And the breakdown of the races in each area?
So if we go into a strongly Black area and we stop 50 people, there is a good chance that the maj. would be black, would this be classed as racist policing?

It's simple. Blacks and Latinos, especially the illegal alien gangbanger Latinos, commit more and more crimes than whites and Asians. And the neighborhoods that these police officers patrol are usually a hotbed of crime and these neighborhoods are usually populated by Hispanics or blacks or a little bit of both. Think about Boyle Heights or South Central or East L.A..

There are quite a few fine officers. The problem being the leadership or lack of it, cover ups, etc.

The Mexicans are now claiming that they have to sell drugs to 'make ends meet' in LA! Most of the illegals come here to sell drugs...jobs Americans won't do! But the midget Mexican mayor says there is 'no evidence to prove that gang crimes are racially motivated'!

Now that the illegals have over-populated LA, they are not 'making ends meet' with drug pushing so they are doing home invasions, car jacking, and burglaries and robberies. They are so brazen now that they just approach their victims on the street in broad daylight and hold a gun to their head and demand their money and cell phones!

In my particular neighborhood, several old ladies have been mugged in front of their homes in the middle of the day by Mexicans and Blacks! No wonder everyone freaks out when they see a Mexican (or Black) walking down the street! We just happen to have 10x more Mexicans than Blacks in LA...It's NOT bias...it's a fact!

As an officer myself I am so glad to see that members of the public see through this lame attempt to stir the pot, we are there to take the "bad guys" to jail, whomever they may be.:) Very refreshing to read your posts!

I propose a solution to the alleged bias: Why not simply ignore all crime and anyone who may be implicated as a suspect of some sort. That should keep minorities happy. That way, no one can cry "Foul!" Let the criminals run free and problem is solved. Wait a minute. I thought white people were the minority in California. It sure is if you walk around my neighborhood. LAPD is not the UN, its not the army of the last remaining super-power, and its not the ACLU. Its an organization that polices the Los Angeles area. It has police officers that keep the peace in rough areas. Rough areas happen to be minority, OK...Am I going to fast for you. White areas are not rough...period,mmmkay.

So, since the white areas are not rough (i.e., violent crimes, property crimes, petty vandalism, rampant drug and alcohol use) there is very little crime. If you cannot understand this, you are obviously not bright enough to understand that cops end up spending more time around minorities for obvious reasaons, with the obvious results... Or are you going to insist that woodland hills, west LA, brentwood, sherman oaks, studio city, etc, all white areas are as rife with crime as Van Nuys and Watts...
