It happened again. How could it, right? But it did. The Panthers lost 3-2 to the Thrashers in overtime Tuesday night at Philips Arena, and the final minutes played out in an improbable fashion that can't be ...

I've been a loyal Panthers fan since the inaugural season, re-upping my lower bowl tickets every single year including these past several horrendous seasons. Would anyone blame me if I finally threw in the towel? Obviously, I am a huge fan and a pretty easy sell because of my love for the sport, but I just don't have that kind of money to throw around.

This team needs a big shake up and not only with the roster but with those who coach the players and signed them to long term contracts.

Martin is still saying the same things. Here you go:''It's disappointing, but we got a strong effort for a road game,'' coach Jacques Martin said.``It was a real weak call at the end that put us down. The guy stepped on Gregory's stick in the offensive zone.

``It didn't take a scoring chance away. It's hard to understand. We battled hard and it went off our defenseman's skate. You know? It's disappointing.''

You are disapointing, Coach!! It is time for Cohen to do it again. Fire the coach and GM. Your defensive first style does not work with this AHL team. After you are fired, the fans need to start chanting "Cohen must sell!!"

The Sure Loss

1 NHL regulation puck (preferably put in your own net by your goalie or defenseman at least once)
6-8 Penalties
1-2 Two-man advantages
1 Give away in the defensive zone
At least one late game goal against
A pinch of mental errors

Mix all of these together into a toxic brew. Fold in a go-ahead goal of our own just to give us a taste of false hope. Bake for 60 minutes (although the oven often does not consistently work for 60 minutes straight) and you have the perfect recipe for The Sure Loss.

Makes as many servings as you can handle - especially during the month of November

At this point...I have nothing to say. I anxiously await the next broken-down-old waiver wire pickup that will "Star" for this basically (except for a few) gutless team.

They actually have people on the Panthers website board arguing the validity of the Garth Murray signing.

My next game in person? Panthers vs. Rangers. Think there will be any seats available for the Ranger slime?! lol

After reviewing the past 6 games I have come to the conclusion that they need to put advertisements on the hockey players helmets and on their uniforms at the rump area.I suggest a NUTRISYSTEMS hat for the rotund coach. This will turn the tide and I guarantee this as I have been in the analyzing business all my life.

It's like they're a perennial expansion team. The only difference is an expansion team is a novelty and they're fun to watch. How much longer are we going to be subjected to JM's happiness about "the effort"? If this were a pee-wee league team, yes, we would all be happy about "the effort." But wait, can it be possible? Garth Murray is now a Panther! I didn't think it would be possible to replace the great McLean, but JM has once again proven that, not only is he a terrific coach, he's a terrific GM to boot. Just when you thought he couldn't come up with another "Never Been" he's worked his magic one more time. Is it too early to book next year's season tickets?

Well, it is clear that no one in this team, including players and coaches, cares for winning enough to do what needs to be done. So what is left to do? NOTHING. If I'm not miskaten the Panthers have had 13 power plays in the last 7 games, and you can't blame the refs this time. It's simply lack of effort, not going to the front of the net enough. It's nice to see Booth playing good, but he's just showing the rest of the team how much they suck.

Lets talk about some details here. Gregory Campbell has 4 pts in the season, all 5 on 5, yet he's a -8 (worthless, he can't even fight). Stephen Weiss 2 goals in 19 games (yeah he's a 1st rounder!). Ruslan Salei loves to take penalties when the game is on the line. Mike Van Ryn (LOL). And as a team they don't have a single short-handed goal. But acording to JM and some of the players, "we need to play 60 mins". This team should be sued by its fans.

watching the panthers is like waiting for the shoe to drop.I am so exhausted that I turned the game off in the last 5 minutes and sure enough another loss. These guys just lack the talent to stave off the other quality players in the last 5 minutes. The minute a good team turns up the heat we fold.I really cant stand Martin and his stupid methods(leaving Stewart down).I have 2 tickets and next year I will maybe have one or none-TO FRUSTRATING TO WATCH THIS ANYMORE

Of course it happened again.

Leadership must provide an environment where nothing but top performance and excellence is expected. The first step is to hold those who are not putting in the effort off and on the ice accountable.

Beyond that, Cohen could stop being so cheap and bring Jovo here who has waived his no-trade clause only for an offer from Florida. he could be some needed help to our sagging blue line. No offense to Jokinen, the kid tries his heart out, but we need a bona fide marquee scorer. A straight up captain would be nice too. So many problems to list, so little time.

Now, back to my armchair...

How about paper bags with advertisements to put over our heads. They could read "This Panthers loss brought to you by Preparation H".

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Sagittarius

You'll feel friendly with everyone you meet today, and you might even be lucky financially. Money should be coming in, but going out rather fast as well... Astral influences will keep you on your toes, and will probably make you flirtatious, but they could also make you moody. This makes it tricky for close relationships to run on an even keel. The truth is, perhaps you don't want too much closeness at the moment. Your partner probably knows that you're often like this, by now, anyway.
