I can't wait for Sunday - I'll be there and people coming with me are from Niagara County -(Gasport & Lockport) they are just as outraged about this as the People of Erie County.

You know what really ticks me off - Channel 4 interviewed Frank Clark and his words were "Put Up or Shut Up"

Bottom line Clark - if you wouldn't have fought so bad in November 2007 to fight the new DNA evidence found in the DeJac case - the public MIGHT not be so peod at you but to turn your nose up to that new DNA evidence - that's what started the problem!

What kind of District Attorney turns his nose up to new DNA evidence?

Answer: A corrupt District Attornry

Great...... we now have a corrupt DA in office and good cop suspended.

I hope everyone comes out Sunday to show Mr. Delano support and of course to send a message to Frank Clark:

We The People are "Putting Up" now it's time for you to Shut UP Clark! I sincerely doubt if people would show up for a rally for you!!!

Well the need for this benefit is to prove there is a corrupt DA in office and a darn good-hearted cop suspended without pay and we want the good cop back and the bad DA suspended without pay! This is all backassward!

Frank Clark made a statement the other day "Put Up or Shut Up" well Frank - we're putting up - now maybe you should shut up. If you were suspended without pay - I seriously doubt if any fundraisers would be held for you!

I'm trying to figure out and understand why the Buffalo Police Department is upset because one of their own did his job? In this day and age where there are crooked cops in uniforms, this man went above and beyond the call of duty to help a VICTIM, a child who could not speak for herself, and you suspend him?? I thought the mantra for law enforcement was "To protect and serve"? My question is had this happened in Amherst, Orchard Park or Williamsville would he have been suspended?? Mr. Delano, hold your head up high, don't doubt the choices and decisions that you have made. Know in your heart that you made the right decision and that there is a little girl who will forever appreciate what you have done. Sometimes you have to stand alone when it comes to what you and your heart truly believes in. Best of Luck!

I'm wearing my extra special tinfoil helmet to go with my vote for pedro shirt! sipowiz would be there but he's a fictional character, just like dennis!

U people r crazy what do u know about Delano, ur facts are really insane, if u can read u have been told that Delano is only taking credit for a group of hard working detectives. Including him and now he gets a benefit for undermining an investigation for what. Personnel gain or what. He is the one that is wrong and now the media has him as a hero. Support Crystalyn and put Lynn Dejac in Niagara Square and flog her.

Am I the only one who sees Delano's actions as having an ulterior motive? Don't get me wrong...I think the way the police and the DA have handled this case is awful. But doesn't anyone else see Delano cashing in on this one?

Consider that his career will never peak above where its at now. He has been getting national notoriety since breaking open the case, and now, with this suspension, he is gaining even more notoriety.

I can see, within a year, Delano is fired from the BPD (or at least forced to resign), has a book deal on the table, and is a contributor on at least one cable news network. This is the bigtime for him. His measly police salary will look like chump change once he hits the national spotlight.

So before you go supporting this guy at a "benefit"...Think about it, Folks...Think about it!!!

Lynn Dejac is filing a civil suite. Could it be she needed those tapes as evidence? Could there be a payoff for that evidence? After all, she could win millions! What would a cop stand to gain for that evidence? This could be a hit movie!

I get the "rally" idea to show support for the guy, no problem there, I'm all for that. But a benefit fundraiser, I still don't get it.

Well after reading some of these posts and the countless others on wgrz web site, i firmly belive that there are a lot of naive and ignorant folk in WNY. What the H*ll don't you people get?, Delano was ordered to stop doing something that was prejudicial to the workings of an organization, he defied orders from a superior officer, he VIOLATED the rules and regulations! and being on the job for 28 years HE KNOWS what happens when you violate the rules. As a retired member of the BPD and a former commanding officer I support the commissioner 100% on his actions, I am sure glad Delano did not work for me in any capacity, for if he did and refused an order I would have jacked him up faster than this internet works! And now to have a benefit for him, to support his decision to be insubordinate and defy orders is just a horrendus outpouring of misguided support. Yes I relize he is losing money, but that was his decision, he alone chose to defy orders, no one twisted his arm. By supporting his lawlessness you are sending the wrong message. I do not support his actions one bit, I klnow full well what it is to be suspended, I was at that juncture once when I took a hit for a few of my men, absorbing the blame for bad decisions on their part, but I was their boss,I had decided to allow an action to take place and I was ultimately responsible for their actions and I took a suspension without pay,and was not compensated in any form for my actions! so to is Delano, he is responsible for what he did and should not be compensated for wrongdoing. I just do not undertand what you people are thinking!
His suspension has nothing to do with Clark, or the Commissioner or anyone else, just himself! Maybe when you are all down there hanging off his coattails on Sunday he may tell you the truth and admit he was wrong and be a man and stand up and take his punishment..........God you people make me sick!

Generally speaking, Mgmt. looks for the easy way out of a jam. I don't hear any talk about changing the system to accommodate future investigations. OK maybe Delano broke a current rule - and probably should be suitably punished for doing so. BUT, the current rule is obviously flawed in that it ignores some of the technical tools available that are capable of righting the wrongs of yesterday. Same as it is for "criminals", if you break a rule today, you'll be punished regardless if the rule is changed tomorrow. It's the order of things.
Bottom Line = Change the system so that good cops like Delano don't have to go to the media to be heard. You can't just change a death certificate, and expect a problem to go away. When you have to answer to an appointed Commissioner, the cops ought to at least have a judge easily available to run things like this by.

Evidence is evidence and should not be released to anyone. But lets put things in perspective, it was two videos that show absolutley nothing of any evidentary value. The evidence that was released was not released to throw off an investigation. It appears the videos were released to keep this case alive and in the public view.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Cancer

Discussions and meetings go really well today because you're finding it easy to put your thoughts into words. You'll also show that you respect other people's viewpoints even if they don't coincide with your own. It's a good day for making domestic plans, and some of these will be quite ambitious without being unrealistic or far-fetched.
