My take on the game and current situation would be negative and we must stay positive right?...Mom use to say "If you've got nothing nice to say don't say anything at all"...Repeat after me: "They are young and will only get better"....

Wow, 7 straight losses...? But I thought everyone was saying this Blackhawks team was improving...let me tell ya something, THEY AREN'T...thankfully, I wouldn't waste a penny to watch these bums play...

Marc still doesn't get it...The Hawks don't need fans like you. Keep your cash!

Marc doesn't get it? It's morons like you who pay to see slop on the ice year in and year out...you're right, I'm the last type of fan the Blackhawks want...I actually expect a decent product on the ice every 10 years or so...wake up Tony, it's time to get back into reality...

If you have ever been involved in HS or college sports(I now currently coach high school hockey and baseball), you learn to play hard through adversity (losing). It may sound "corny", but it is true. If these professional athletes, the Blackhawks, don't have the great attitude that Dennis Savard is preaching, then they won't last. Losing is hard for everyone if you have a passion for a team or you play on a team. It kills me to see the losing continue. I always see the glass half full because I have made a profession of coaching young men in sports. We HS coaches get paid very little and coach because we love what we do. It's insanity if one doesn't have a drive to teach athletes to learn the game and have a "never say die" attitude. I say all of this because these Blackhawk players are mostly young and are still impressionable as they begin their careers as pros. If they can survive this streak they are going to be so tough when it all ends that nothing but good will come out of it. They are not too removed from HS,Juniors, or College hockey. A losing streak will either make or break them. The core of veterans are character guys and the coaching staff is outstanding. Injuries have drailed a train that was rolling. They will get it back on track. When? As a fan I hope it's soon. It may now be late in the season and too late for the playoffs. To say there is no improvement shows a person who simply has no hockey or sports sense. Casual fans look at just wins. They many times do not see talent just on the edge of success. I hate the losing, but love what I see on the horizon. I will continue to spend my money to watch the NHL and enjoy this group of "bums". You have to love the game also. As to the game: Marty Turco continues to be , along with Marty Brodeur, the best puck handler in the league. He was even better before the rule change. He's amazing. That game came so close to being a Hawk win! Khabby was out of his mind most of the game. The winning goal was just not steered far enough to clear the net. We would have had overtime. "They are young and will only get better...."

Thank you Howie and Tony! This guy is a joke! I am now going to ignore him. I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he has exposed himself as a know nothing. I'm sure he has never seen West Madison Street in his life! GO HAWKS!!

Marc, you must be related to Bong Smoker... |

Thank you and welcome back! |

Yeah, there's been no improvement this year, and there's nothing exciting about the Hawks, Marc. The last time they had two young players as exciting as Kane and Toews was when Savvy and Larmer came up in 1980. And Patrick Sharp? He's having a pretty nice little breakout season there, isn't he? I think he'll score forty goals. Then there are the rest of the young guys who are getting better almost every night. Byfuglien, Wisniewski (before the knee, of course), Seabrook, Keith, Jack Skille, the list goes on and on. But you wouldn't know. You haven't been watching. In a couple of years, when they're contending for the Cup, us "morons" will be in the stands, enjoying the excitement, and you can be up in Lake Geneva, enjoying some high school or Pee Wee games. Who'll be the moron then?

Marc why don't you spend your time writing on a different blog, or better yet get some knowlegde about hockey. The Hawks are a better team than they have been in years. Yes they are going thru growing pains but watch and see where this team is in the next few years. They have 7 players that are out and still staying in most of their games. There is a new level of committment from the owner down to the players and watch and see what happens to the free agents, they are going to want to come and play for Chicago. That has not happened in years, and the team they have is very young now. Also why don't you check out the nhl's website, every team except for Detroit has went thru 7 game losses this year so do everyone here a favor. Get some hockey knowledge and if you don't like the Hawks then don't write anything.

You guys all must love the word potential...potential like the Bulls this year? Potential like the Bears winning a Super Bowl? Again, it's the simple minded Blackhawks fans who just don't get it...and frankly, they never will...yeah, the Blackhawks have a few nice players...and so do the Bulls and so do the Bears...and this means what? There is a reason why people wised up and haven't gone to Blackhawks games in YEARS until this year...and even so, I promise you the attendance will slide...my gosh, it's like none of you will wake up and smell the coffee...this is a franchise that never let their fans see a home game on TV...raise ticket prices for a product that half the time didn't even belong in the NHL...made bad move after bad move...and yet, you still find a few knuckleheads burrowed away in some dark den thinking the Blackhawks have turned the corner because of Toews and Kane and etc...results my friend, results...I would never pay to see slop...I will leave that to the Blackhwaks fans...potential is a funny thing fellas...but if you have sucked aslong as the Blackhwaks have and still do, then I understand hanging onto a glimmer of hope like most of you mopes...7 losses in a row boys...ouch...improvement? negative...

change the trainer.!!!! Rockford team is not going to win it for us!!!!!!!

Wow Marc didn't know you had that much pent up frustration for the Hawks. That's good let it out..Hey we've all felt that way but the difference is there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it's not necessarily an on coming train either. The word potential also breeds hope and optimism...My thoughts on the attendence increase had me wondering the same thing that if the Hawks keep losing will the fans stay away?I'd like to think and maybe i'm delushional that it's a team that's moving in the right direction working hard every night along with the fact that you don't have an owner (WWW) that was stuck in the past and set in his ways that he alienated a once srong and loyal fan base..That's gone now(R.I.P.). The coaching staff and the GM have full support from Rocky who i'm sure will now do the things that his dad wouldn't do like make moves to improve the team and giving Tallon the green light to do so..Unfortunately he hasn't been able too because the team is struggling and other Gm's aren't going to help the Hawks out..You have to bite the bullet..Now if 2 years from now the Hawks are still in a funk and not one of the top 8 teams in the league then youv'e got problems....Just trying to be positive Marc is all...

Marc, Dollar Bill Wirtz died, unless you didn't know that. With that Rocky took over the team and has made huge changes. And one of them being that the home games are on TV, not all of them yet but many of them. Next year they will all be in TV. With any sports team you can only have one a year win the top spot, whether it is the super bowl, stanley cup, or whatever. So every team has potential, the Hawks are playing better this year than in previous years. I am glad that you don't want to spend your money there, I would think that you are the idiot in stands wearing the Red Wings Jersey, or maybe you can't afford one. For those who enjoy to see the Hawks play and have hockey knowledge know that you can't change a team overnight especially with the cap. They are headed in the right direction and this quick after dollar bill died is awesome. I guess that in a year or so when they are going in the playoffs we will see you on the band wagon. For now if you don't like the Hawks then stay away from the stadium there are plenty of fans going to the games to watch a improving product. Like I said before check out Ottawa, they lost 7 games in a row, how about other teams in the NHL. They go thru the same up's and down's as the hawks

Bring me back to the booth...and all will be well!

Marc, one more item and this is a fact.
Jordan Hendry became the 37th player used by the Hawks this season, which was the most of any team in the NHL. Twelve players have been recalled from Rockford to play in at least one game.… I think that we need a better trainer like Mike said |

I coached a Senior Hockey team 20 years ago, and we couldn't buy a win.
After 7 or 8 straight losses, my team captain stood up in the dressing room and said " Until losing hurts, we'll never be a winner." I think often of that statement while watching the Black Hawks. It appears that losing doesn't bother the Hawks - they're rebuilding. The Hawks have been rebuilding since 1961 ( 47 years ). They're half ways to the Cubs record of futility - 100 years. The more names the Hawks add to the front office, the poorer the product on the ice. Maybe the new blood is bringing too much of the Cubs losing mentality with them. Sad to say, I see another season of promise slipping through the Hawks' fingers, and if I was a gambler, I'd place a safe bet on the Hawks' missing the post season yet again. Watching the Hawks play now, one just waits for the miscue that will cost them the game. You get this feeling in your bones that the opposition is going to get the break they need to win and sure enough, it happens. If it wasn't for the goaltender last night, Dallas would have won by 5 or 6 goals. Too many giveaways by the Hawks defence. With 13 of the next 16 games on the road, somebody better start to pull their weight, or we may have to dress Hull, Mikita and Savard. 4 straight wins over Detroit gave us hope, but a 7 game losing streak quickly dashes our hopes. WAKE UP HAWKS! CHRISTMAS BREAK IS OVER. NO MORE GIFT WRAPPED GAMES! |

What the idiot Marc doesn't understand is that the Blackhawks are in the very beginning stage of a hockey renaissance in Chicago. I have real high hopes and have never been more excited for this team. Yeah, they're young, they're going to struggle occasionally. Jeez I'm only 22 but I feel like I'm older than half the team. Kane, Toews, Seabrook, and the likes are going to bring this team a Stanley Cup. I can't wait!
