I'm glad for Stu. He deserves a post-player position with a decent, professional and serious NHL club.

The fact that he was traded for Chris Wells, still irks many of us long-time fans. It amazes me that Bryan Murray still can get an Executive position in this League (Anaheim - Ottawa). His antics and nepotism (he hired his worthless brother Terry to Coach) here in Florida alone are enough to ban him from professional hockey for life!

A class act and a great player all around. I was sad to see him leave the Panthers. His departure symbolizes the beginning of the end for this franchise. I still crack up hearing Brian Murray refer to Chris Wells as "the next Lindros". Man what a messed-up trade that was. Who could have ever imagined there would have been far worse trades yet to come?

I'm happy for Stu. Now I'm just anxious to see who's going where in the McCabe trade. Would love to see what Martin pulled here.

As I understand, once the Leafs provide a $2 million contract payout due on September 1, which still counts against the salary cap on an overall contract duration basis (average of years/$) McCabe is apparently on his way to FLA for Van Ryn. Whether that is a straight up trade is an unknown. Other players that may or may not involved in this transaction is up for discussion.

I guess none of the ex-rats want no part of Martin's ship of fools, including Vanbiesbruck who comments from distance about how great is Martin !

Silly Haas... you can't trade human excrement. If you could Martin would probably get a fart in return.

FYI ...
Another Edmonton-area hockey son will have his name attached to an arena.
Stu Barnes, whose roots extend to Spruce Grove, will be feted by the city when the east venue of the Spruce Grove Arena will be officially become the Stu Barnes Arena.
It will neighbour the Grant Fuhr Arena.
"I'm just grateful my name will be hanging alongside his," said Barnes. "When they brought it up, I was very surprised and honoured." The ceremony will be held on Sept. 12 -- or Stu Barnes Day, as it was dubbed in a unanimous vote by city council last week.

You're struggling to get everything finished in time today, making you feel fractious and tired. At some point you may have to take a pragmatic decision about which tasks must be completed today and which will have to be postponed until another day. Do your best to keep things in proportion otherwise you'll waste time in trivial details and needless nit-picking.
