Penner Leads Oilers Past Flames

Dustin Penner scored the go-ahead goal in the third period as the Edmonton Oilers kept their playoff hopes alive by moving into a tie for the final spot in the Western Conference with a 2-1 win over the Calgary Flames on Saturday night. After two scoreless periods, Matthew Lombardi put the Flames up early in the third period before Denis Grebeshkov tied it just 67 seconds later. The Oilers improved to 40-34-6 and are now tied with Nashville and Vancouver for the eighth place in the conference, but the Predators and Canucks have two games in hand. Read more
