A caps fan through and through I've got to aprove with their moves. Pettinger was just a dangler that the caps could easily replace (although I did like the guy and was clearly the biggest sale of the trades involved) in return we get all kinds of talent like goalie Huet from Montreal and the free agent Federov. It shows that the Caps are trying to win now not next year. Ovechkin is a show stopper by all means but at the same time there really isnt much more for the Caps to offer besides maybe Semin. So with that throwing in a maybe over the hill Federov that can stil make plays and a goalie who is a bit more effective than Kolzig makes for a good trade in my book. Looks like a playoff run to me...
