Sickening how the worst announcing team in hockey needed to both start and finish their broadcast by slamming JayBo. JayBo is the best talent this team has seen since Pavel Bure and the most hard working and well-rounded one ever.
Obviously he is outta here at his earliest opportunity and I don't blame him at all. Obviously the team knows it, and as the classless organization they are, they decide to go totally negative so as the idiot rah-rah fans don't start asking themselves why this team was so totally inept in its handling of yet another franchise centerpiece talent. Shame, shame, shame on everyone at Panther's management. This is why the Panthers will never attract top quality talent and this is why the organization will continue to lose any rising stars they happened to be lucky enough to acquire at the earliest opportunity. This is why class characters like Gary Roberts wanted out in the middle of a season and three-time cup winner Joe Nieuwendyk wouldn't even stay on in a cushy no-effort advisory position at a high salary in spite of having a home in the area. They don't want their names attached to any of this teams inept and totally classless behavior. ****- u - c - k the Panthers. |

No need for the announcers to bash Jaybo as you said they are the worst...agree 100%. Personally I think the guy is a little overrated by the media and most fans down here but having said that he played a ton of ice time, never missed games, provided some nice "O" from the blueline and unlike most Panthers (including management) over his tenure here actually earned his paycheck. Another instance of a lack of class from this ragged organization.
Knives out for Jaybo and probably Voukon now that the season is over. |

Jaybo is talented and I wish him the best in the open market. My question is what are the teams that he would play for and what teams would pursue him in July?
|
||||
Cohne Yormark Martin are oxymorons and no relevance to what an NHL franchise should be.. The very bottom line, is that they have ruined the fan experience, and NHL in Florida.. Except for the sheer joy of seeing visiting teams and their players in Sunrise, the franchise is a joke |
||||

Jay is the best player on this team. They offered him a long term deal that he turned down. Money not the issue, he wants to play in a "real" hockey market (would prefer a Canadian team). A huge mistake not trading him. The other poster does not know the game, this guy is young, one of the best skaters in the league, can add offense and shuts down teams playing 30 minutes a game. Overated (bs). As far as your comment on Gary Roberts who was great in Toronto, he was absolutly horrible while here. The guy that hit everyone, did not lay a glove on anyone while he was here. If guys don't want to be here, lets pack them a salami sandwich and get em outta here.

Luckily, I won't go down as the worse announcer in Panthers' history now that they hired Steve Goldstein. The best announcer they ever had (Dave Strader) fled after one year with the joke of an organization.

Didn't take long for my first post season prediction to come true. I said that they would pull the same crap they pulled on a series of players who left this organization. Now it will get even worse. You will see the season tix reps saying all sorts of stuff about Bouwmeester, plus management leaking stories to the press with tidbits that make Jay look bad.
That is why you have to overpay an overrated guy like Horton more money than a guy like Franzen has agreed to over 11 years so he can finish his career with a classly organization like the Wings. Elite players simply have no desire to play for this organization. |

Unless proven otherwise, a very valid post. I happened to be at the game last night, here is an incredible observation from the operator at "Pantherland". Awhile back, fans were encouraged to "trade in" their old jerseys, for brand new..then, the thought process was that these "old jerseys" were going to be distributed to local underpriviledged children when they get those ticket handouts. You've seen these "folks"..they come in half way through the first period, and they don't "look" like hockey fans...with all their little rug rats....and their arms full of "free" food. In any event, in the middle of pantherland stood a rack of filthy used jerseys, and on top of the rack was a sign that stated..Panthers Jerseys up to 50% off!!!! LMAO! Some of the "custom names" on these jersys?...how about "Richie Rich" when did he play? Some other personal fans last names... AND, "Billie" a humongous jersey worn by one of the Seminole Indian guys I've seen countless times at the BAC..Just how dispicable is this organization..That one took the cake! Just one exta point somwehere would have put us in. while it was a entertaining game, I don't see how anyone could be uplifted knowing this team has come up short yet again. Think ALL SUMMER where that ONE POINT could have come from. I can think of many. |
||||
|
all i got to say is that not only may the panthers organization suck but lets be honest the fans suck too
i rather stay home and watch the games because at least i can yell and scream all i want with out some stuffy older person looking at me like i am crazy. I want to see positive steps ofward this summer first and foremost FIRE MARTIN,SECOND COHEN PLEASE SELL THE TEAM,THIRD BYE BYE BOUWMEESTER AND YOUR SOFT DEFENSE(THE GUY NEVER HIT ANYONE AND ALWAYS SKATED BACK AT HIS GOALTENDER INSTEAD OF CHALLENGING THE SHOOTER,HE IS SOFT AND NOT THE NUMBER 1 DEFENSMAN WE NEED, SEE YA PUZZY) We will all see if this owner really wants to put a good product on the ice this year,and make no mistakes thst if tjey go through the summer with the same statis-quo Cohen and Yorkmark will have tons of fans outside the BAC with torches and picks,axes and what ever else we can get our hands on to run these losers out of town HAVE GOOD SUMMER TO FLORIDA PANTHERS |

When this world
The real life world you're living in Just gets too much for you to take When you find Too many troubles on your mind And feel just like there's no escape And it seems your heart's forgotten how to believe Turn a page in your soul There's a place you can go Close your eyes and let your heart fly free Dream away, dream away Let imagination light your way Take you as far as your heart can see Dream away, dream away To a place where hope is shining Find your silver lining Everything you need is just a dream away Remember when A dream could take you anywhere Just a wish anything could be When the farthest star was one more star you could reach Take a look in your heart 'Cause that's where dreams are where it starts Anything is real if you just believe All it takes is faith to make your dreams come true And somewhere in this world there'll be somebody To share your dreams with you |
||||
Good post.. A few other teams also are asking what if they won one more point.. The record stands for the winners and losers, the rest are just what if's.. With out new owneship, and management, you can expect the same next season.. |

FLORIDA WILL NOT MAKE PLAYOFFS AGAIN NEXT SEASON AND BELOW IS WHY:
1. With Bouwmeester gone we lose our only top rated all-star defensemen with incredible wheels who plays almost 30 minutes a night in all different situations and has been a stellar contributor on an offensively anemic team. When you see what this kid does playing for a REAL club, you will realize how badly we screwed-up by losing him for nothing. That is something Martin won't be able to replace even if he wants to. As usual, idiot know-nothing fans are trying to poo-poo Bouwmeester already as being soft, ineffective and expendable. Just wait until these morons see what this team looks like without him (they better cover their eyes). 2. Weiss is having wrist surgery on his second wrist. Wrist surgeries are notorious for taking months to rehab and are tricky to get right the first time. If you don't believe it, ask how VanRyn worked out for us after he went under the knife for both his wrists. Moral of the story.... don't plan on Weiss (or his plus\minus) to be a major contributor next season. 3. Booth is an RFA and is considering to miss the World Championships. He implied that he doesn't want to risk injury. That begs the question, why would he care when he plays for an NHL team where he has a guaranteed roster spot whether he is healthy or not? The only answer is that he is hoping to test the market by tempting another team to make an offer the Panthers will refuse to match. It sounds crazy, but it is plausible and could easily happen considering Cohen's penchant for being a cheapskate. Besides, other GMs have no respect for Martin or this franchise so they'd have no qualms about trying to yank Booth out from under us. Don't be surprised if it happens. 4. Because the knives have come out as predicted on Vokoun (along with Bouweemster), Vokoun will most likely seek some way to get out of his contract or leave this organization. Just look at his face and you know Vokoun is not a happy camper here. It is easy to see that he is in DeBoer's dog house. If Vokoun sits out he will likely be replaced by Anderson who is good for short spurts, but is not effective for the long haul. End result? Goaltending will once again become a major weakness with this franchise along with anemic offense and a less potent defense than we had this season. 5. Lastly, there is Horton. Nate has all the tools to be a top-flight forward, but this team has made several mistakes with him. One is that they haven't cultivated him to be a scorer or a power forward. Thus when Jokinen left he was handed the responsibility to score and lead which is something he never did before and he never thought was his responsibility to begin with. Like Jokinen, no one ASKED him if he wanted it. They just threw money at him and expected things to just sort themselves out. That never works. Just ask NY (Manny Malhotra) or Ottawa (Alexander Daigle). Moreover, Horton was a natural center expected to play on the wing which sent the message that he was expected to score 35+ goals forgetting that he barely could do 30 goals with the help of Jokinen and when playing at his normal position. End result? Horton is painted as an underachiever. He has clearly become disenfranchised with this club and he is just biding his time until he gets traded or can sign with another team that understands how to use their players properly. |

Great Eastern Playoff matchups:
Bos-Mont. Wash-NYR. Car-NJD. Pitt-Phil. All interesting & entertaining great matchups. As a true fan of the pure sport of hockey, now it gets good. Since none of us have actually had a horse in this race for a decade or so, I don't even care who wins. I just want every series to go 7 games. No more Iceman, Louie, Alan Cohen, Yormark, Martin, Steve Goldstien, PUKE...... Have a good summer and start your rah-rah spinning about "next year", and the panthers are "building a strong foundatin for the future"...... Send those checks to alan cohen and the playoffs are going to be great without you! |

Oh I know the game just fine. Played more games than you've probably watched. The leader of a D that gets barraged in shots on a nightly basis is hardly a shutdown player He plays half the game so none of that is his fault huh? None of those 40 shots come when he's on the ice? Why is a minus player then? Plenty of times after the deadline I saw average forwards blowing by him and his vaunted skating ability wide-side. We will see he how does elsewhere I'm very curious. Not knocking the guy but he is good to very good at best not elite like most seem to think. That's overrated in my book. I'm willing to admit I might be wrong but i think this is a case of a good player looking great to some fans because he is the best on a bad team. A lot of you seem to think when he leaves here he's going to turn into Mike Green or to Chris Pronger in his prime but I seriously doubt it. He's not as gifted offensively as Green and is not physical enough to come close to Pronger. I'd like him back but not at the money he's going to get. Would much rather have #1 line forward than a 2nd tier (albeit high 2nd tier) defenseman who doesn't hit and doesn't lead. |

You said it! the Playoffs are going to be sick. I think my above post was the last one about the Panthers until the cup is awarded unless something big like Martin getting canned happens. Since the Panthers and Oilers are out I'm going to root for Washington and Chicago to make the finals. I think it's good for the league when exciting teams that bring the O are successful. No Detroit again this year please. I'm getting sick of them winning. Hoping they draw Anaheim and go out in the 1st round. Watch out for the Ducks people - that's my dark horse pick. What does everyone else think - who do you guys like, think will get upset etc. let's have some precidtions here. |

Next year, will be the year that all of the pieces of the puzzle come together for the Cats. We are arguably the most talented team in our division. They just need to all get on the same page. We will be having a parade down Panther Parkway before our thier 20th anniversity.

Just look at his face and you know Vokoun is not a happy camper here. It is easy to see that he is in DeBoer's Good post except your take on Booth-Vokoun did let in alot of soft goals at end and DeBoer overplayed him and will now demonize him.Vokoun is an above average goalie but everyone here is either miscast or put under tremendous pressure to achieve at things they are not suited for.They ruined Jokinen by forcing the leadership role on him when the guy has little puck handling ability and doesnt want the burden of leadership.They are doing the same thing with Horton.Bouw is a terrific defenceman although not as good as Chara or Green but he will excell with another team.The entire problem here is the owner Alan Cohen-until that changes nothing will change-WE HAVE NO CHANCE AT PLAYOFFS NEXT YEAR-Martin has the people skills of a tatantula(a spiteful one at that) |

Agree with most of your post and despite being seemingly hard on Bouwmeester lately (which has nothing to do Panthers management spin 101 just that I simply disagree with some on here about how good he really is) his loss will definitely hurt. I just think the Panthers would be better off not without him but by spending that money on forwards as they already have too much tied up on the D which ultimately didn't work this year even with him. The bottom line is he doesn't want to be a Panther anyways. The bad thing was not trading him - letting him go for nothing and not getting back assets was a big mistake. I do have to take real issue with your comments about Horton. This is a guy that has cracked 30 goals once and has come close two other times that has a wicked, wicked shot and loads of talent. That is why he is expected to score goals because he has already done it not because they threw a lot of money at him and screwed up his head. You are giving Olli way too much credit for Horton's numbers a few years ago. Nobody would call Olli a big time set up guy. Unlike other centers he usually scores more goals than assists. You are supposed to improve as you age through your twenties in the NHL not regress (look at Booth who was not expected to be a scorer). This is simply the case of guy who can score 20 a year just by showing up but takes too many nights off to be a better player than that. That's not anyone's fault but his own. I'm actually surprised that you posted that view about him. |
||||
Yeah I've seen these "folks" too, AKA little wannabe thugs. You look at them and wonder what the heck they are doing at a hockey game when they obviously have no interest in the game. One of these little thugs took it upon himself to harrass everyone walking past him in the upper deck concourse. I was hoping someone was going to go Paul Laus on him and teach him a lesson. Hey Panther organization, great way to turn PAYING families off from going to your games is to continue to invite these little wannabe thugs to the arena for free. |

With Marion Hossa & Marion Gaborik as unrestricted free agents next year, the Panthers should sign one of these guys. That would be the high powered 40+ goal scorer offensive sniper we so sorely lack. Would also give us a bonafide shoot-out specialist. We'd be in the playoffs right now if we won just one more stinkin shootout.
Dump useless Stewart, Tarnasky, Peltonen, McLean and Cullimore. Call up Repik, Matthias, & Ellerby and make some decent acquisitions. Bottom line, without a bonafide 40+ goal scoring sniper, this organ-EYE-zation fails to make the playoffs for the 9th season in a row. Start sewing the name Hossa or Gaborik onto a Panthers jersey now. |
