The Flyers have no one to carry the puck from the blueline? Are you insane? Kimmo Timonen is one of the best and most underrated puck-moving defensemen in the NHL. Matt Carle has the potential to be a PP quarterback, and Braydon Coburn has untapped offensive, puck-moving abaility. What the Flyers really need is a defenseman that can blast the puck from the blueline in the offensive zone, when they're on the powerplay. I agree that the Flyers need a top-flight defenseman, but to say that they don't have a puck-moving defenseman is a little absurd.<quoted text>
Understood, but without the Malkin forechecking like that, that puck never gets put in the net. Also, I disagree in that I do think the Penguins are better than the Flyers, from net all the way front. The Flyers just do not have the skill to hang with the speed and constant rush of the Pens. That is also what causes the mistakes by the Flyers. Put them under pressure and they fold, just like last year in the Conference Finals. The only good thing is that now they have all their players and they cannot use that as an excuse when they lose.
I still believe the Flyers have no one to carry the puck from the blueline. Just my opinion though.
