I don't want to pour any cold water on this victory for our Minnesota Wild but I can't help but compare it to the Gophers tie with North Dakota on Saturday night. The Wild and the NHL need to mandate they play on a larger sheet of ice. I know Noth Dakota has a NHL sized rink but the players are not as big or as fast. I would love to see the Wild play the Ducks at Mariucci arena where they had room to make plays.

Out with Nordy, in with Gordy!

Respect to tough-as-nails Wild timekeeper Gordy Lee for not missing a beat as the glass shattered around him with 4.9 seconds left in the game last night.
For everyone disappointed with namby-pamby Nordy (is it a racoon, or what?), I think the Wild should use an proven old-time hockey tough guy like Gordy to be the team's new mascot.
