Just eat up Ricks contract and move on already. we problably would have won if Joey was in net. I think tonights game will be ugly. lets predict the score. I say Sharks 6, Isles 2. oh well........

Shark's 7 - Islander's 2!
DP gets pulled after 2 periods. Joey gives up 1.

Please let DP sit out for the season....he adds nothing to this team, except for letting in bad-soft goals...the Phoenix game should have been two points for us!

I understand the frustration with Ricky getting hurt,But I guess we forget the great games he put in.The guy is a top goalie in this league, now I agree to not play him regularly this season as we are not going anywhere, but to give up on him is ridiculous. How many times has he outplayed Queen henrick? We now DP can be great and hopefully after this injury riddled season he will get back to the strong goaltending that he has shown in the past. After all, this season should be all about getting Taveres on this team next season

Wow. Kudos to all! Josh Bailey gets a garbage goal. His first in 118 games. What an accomplishment. And the geezer,Dougie Weight, finally gets his 1,000th point. Too bad he only has three of those points with the Islanders. And the return of Ricky Red Light. Who aptly lived up to his name. Phoenix scores! But all kidding aside, Islanders are still last in the entire league. He, He.

Congrats Dougie!!!!
Bailey nice goal-finally!

DP is so much better than Joey Mac.
Just watch DP move around his crease-so much more in control...

As mike said-this season is all about Taveres!!!

There is depth past Tavares you know. Hedman, Schenn, Cowen, Duchene, and Kane. There is much depth beyond the second pick.

Well when a smart coach (Ted Nolan) places several good offensive lines and a few decent defensive lines on the ice, any goaltender will look good!

Snow will trade down again after the Islander's receive a high draft pick from the lottery.

I vote to rename the team, New York Brick-throwers!

Broduer, Fleury, Lundqvist, Miller, Thomas, Price, Luongo, Bryzgalov, Giggure, Kipprusoff, Mason and Backstrom are ALL better than DP.

a nice new name is DNP. what a headcase.

You do have a point with Hedman-
But Isles need a true scorer...as we all know.

This is a discovery year, case closed. All us Islander fans waiting to see this team make the playoffs please wake up. Do not read much on this year only on who belongs on the etam for the long haul and who does not. My prediction of 25 wins and about 50 points seems right on traget. Islander fans hang in there. The only thing that worries me me is if Snow/Wang change the plan in mid stream. If we are re-building then re-build for the long haul. I can wait another two years to see this team as a contender. Happy 2009 to all Islander fans.
