Full story: TwinCities.com

An otherwise uneventful day for the Minnesota Wild at the NHL entry draft got considerably more interesting when talk turned to Brian Rolston.

There are a few players in the NHL who deserve some big free agent contracts and with Brian, this guy deserves what ever he wants. Nowadays, players ge their contracts and don;t even produce on the ice.. With Brian, who I have seen play for years and his playing style still hasn;t changed at all. SIGN HIM NOW!!!!!!

YAH....His playing style hasn't changed.... the only thing he contributes is his slapshot, he doesn't give 100%, doesn't work hard on "D" and thinks, at age 35, he deserves a huge contract. If they can sign him at a reduced rate, then fine, use him occasionally at point, on the powerplay, but never to kill penalties. I think a trade would help both parties.

I've been a season ticket holder since day one...and it is finally becoming apparent...Risebrough is an IDIOT! Sure he as drafted some guys that turned out to be pretty good...SO WHAT? A lot of teams have drafted guys that ended up being pretty good! When you have top ten picks, that should end up being pretty easy! Sign Rolston! He's been a gamer since he got here, is rarely hurt and consistently puts up good numbers. The veterans are the core of a team, young talent is great, but can't win you championships...example, look at the Penguins vs. Red Wings Risebrough is going to end up doing the same thing to this team that McHale does to the Timberwolves...the patterns are the same with his non-commitment to vets and refusal to go get the needed talent for your superstars. It's time to lose Risebrough, enough is enough...oh yeah, and send Skoula with him, I've seen high school kids that are better than he is.

If I'm Brian Rolston there is ZERO discount for a team that's made it out of the first round exactly 1 flippin time.

This team has clearly demonstrated they are going to do this on the cheap....the building's full anyway.

We have a cute little song, we have a top notch arena, we have an awesome crusty old-time hockey coach, and we have a number retired and in the rafters even though we've never had a player anywhere near the caliber or number-retiring consideration.

Heck we've got Boogaard.

What we don't have is any top tier superstar caliber talent (sorry Gabby scoring 40 one time only gets you so far....) Never have....

And for all you "Let's Go Wi-ild" chanters, the mathematics of hockey say NO TALENT = NO CUP!

It's been proven over and over. This team is going nowhere....and as a season ticket holder I'm totally bored with it already.

come on, lighten up. We've got a lot of top prospects at Houston just busting at the seams to get to the NHL. We got bargains in the draft this year & we're always looking to make trades to improve ourselves. Oh, Sorry I thought we were talking about the Red Wings. It's kind of a bummer when you give up a 3rd rounder to get Chris Simon(& he leaves right away) & A 3rd rounder to move up one slot in this years draft. Also a bad sign when the management says they spent more than or nearly as much as the Red Wings did on salary & are no where near as good. It shows how incompetent Doug really is.$5 million plus for Kim Johnnson & anything more than minimum wage is way tooooooooo much for Skoula. GO GET SOME TALENT DOUG, you're starting to approach Kevin McHale status with my patience & grabbing at my wallet for money for season tickets!!!!!!!!!! It's getting close to saying enough is enough. Hopefully Leipold won't put up with it much longer

I will be the first to say that the Wild should resign Rolston, but from the sounds of it, thats not going to happen. I say whether we sign him or not the wild should go out and spend the money to get Hossa. That would be a huge addition to the team. And if we do resign Rolston go out and get Hossa anyway. Getting Hossa would get this team past the first round of the playoffs for sure. SO RISEBROUGH NEEDS TO STOP BEING SO DAMN CHEAP AND GET BOTH OF THESE GUYS SIGNED!!!!!!!!!!

Yup... Here we go again. Brain's house in Lakeland was for sale long before negotiations began. With a team of 18,000 fannies in the seat every night, why would management care about winning? DR could not care less about advancing in the playoffs - not so long as there are long lines in front of the Leinie's Lodge. This makes me sick.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Capricorn

Someone is being very pedantic and picky, and they'll soon drive you round the bend with frustration. They're splitting hairs about all sorts of petty problems, but unfortunately you won't be immune from this yourself. You might get caught up in needless details that don't really matter, or take everything that happens very personally. Try to be more objective.
