Full story: Newsday

In a game that coach John Tortorella refused to call a must-win, the Rangers nonetheless played the Devils as if their postseason lives were at stake.

I wrote yesterday that The Rangers needed to bring their A game against the Devils. Well, they did that and more. Lunqvist was phenominal, and Dubinsky, Girardi and Callahan were awesome.
They just have to keep this up.

If the Rangers could just play this way consistently, we would have another cup. They played a smart, disciplined, tough game against a very strong team.
When the defense plays smart, Henny gets to really show his talent. And Avery is brilliant and such a great asset to the team.
Let's hope they can keep it going!!

Avery is one of the smartest players in a league filled with morons and goons. It amazes me how he continues to be effective.

Oh, and I laugh at the 5 devils fans bringing up class, when Brodeur continues to show how classless of a player he is.

So true, it's amazing how Avery can throw an entire team off their game. It reminds me of when the Rangers played Ottawa earlier in the season and Ruutu had the entire Ranger squad occupied in exacting revenge against him.

This is not rocket science- defensemen don't have to knock guys down they just have to ride'em out of the slot to take away good scoring chances from the slot- let guys shoot all day from the boards....they won't beat goalies. When they're taking shots from outside the faceoff circle they're banking on goalies making mistakes on shots from there-
NHL shooters are very good but so are the goalies and very seldom will a good goalie who's focused let him something from outside the slot-

Did Avery even play in the playoffs?

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Leo

If you ask someone to give you a hand today, don't be surprised if they make a mess of it. That's probably because their mind isn't on the job, but it might also be because your instructions aren't as clear as usual. So before you get angry, check that what you said made sense. Relations with someone older or more influential than you could also be blighted by confusion or doubt now.
