it's 50-50 with him - you love him when he's skating hard, checking & irritating the other team - you hate him when he gets whistled for it. You get what you get with him AND he was not the only one taking bad penalties in this series and even in the final month of the regular season. I still think he was a good pick up and I doubt there will be a problem with him tonight.

On my end of the spectrum (no pun intended), how nice of the Flyers to play hard in periods 2 & 3. Thanks guys. The listless 1st period equaled 1 Zantac and 2 TUMS. I can't STAND that mouth breather Malkin* and don't get me started on # 87.

* yeah, yeah I know he's a top 3 player. Doesn't mean I have to like it!

"if he were on your sad excuse for a team, you'd be his biggest fan."

Monty Burns - I just want to comment on this b/c I've often thought of that. I absoultey HATE Avery as a Hockey fan, but as an Islander fan, would I want him on my team? NO. As a Flame fan, Oiler fan, or ANY fan? still a big NO. Only the Ranger fans find a way to LOVE AND DEFEND a player like Avery - and he DESERVES to be treated the way he does by the Refs b/c he IS dirty. He's simply NOT A NICE PERSON - flat out - and I wouldn't want him on my team NO MATTER WHAT. He was trying to GIVE the Caps the tying goal, yet you all love him - really now. Open up your eyes and be honest about the psycho.

P.S. the only reason you guys are on the verge of advancing is because of Lundquist. It's because of players like him, Drury, Stall and Girardi that you are able to kill penalties (that Avery takes) and keep the puck ouf of the net. No NHL team should NEED Avery to "get up" for a game. I constantly hear Ranger fans say how he "sparks" the team and "fires 'em up" - I would like to think a Scott Gomez (who I think is a traitor waste but that's another story) doesn't need "psycho sean" to "get up for a game" he SHOULD be able to do it on his own -- anyway people. YOU DON'T NEEEEEED Avery, he needs the Rangers.

I am a Ranger fan - have been ever since I was a boy of 8 and that was 43 years ago - but I can't stand goons, regardless for which team they play, and Mr. Avery is a goon, plain and simple.
Go Rangers... all the way to the CUP.5837

To TOM: i totally agree with everything you said! I hate Avery even more than the next guy. But i must say..... How does a guy from Independence Missouri have such a good opinion on New York hockey? There's no way you moved there from LI. Who would? that's just weird. what, do you have a slingbox and watch the games with a gay NYI banner behind you drinkin a molson canadian while you wish you were at the coliseum? yeah i got you pegged!
P.S. don't be surprised if in a shocking draft day move Garth Snow drafts Joseph Smith as the new messiah of the world and hockey!

and it's terrible comments like this one that proves that you are not capable of a serious hockey talk Camelot - AS AN ISLADER FAN I am capable of talking hockey no matter who you root for - do I hate the Rangers? Yea of course, but I'm a hockey fan and LIKE to TALK hockey, not simply insult. I'm telling you, you're not making a case for Ranger fans here. And once again AS AN ISLANDER FAN (you can stop reading anytime you want Camelot), you can't question my loyalty as a fan (clearly, they've given us every reason to jump ship)- I don't come here to bash you simply b/c you like the Rangers, so relax, chill, and realize that Avery is a waste of a roster spot.

To Frank: haha that was great! And no need for the slingbox now that the playoff games are on VS. and I get to down my Molsons watching HD FINALLY! Blues are out man, what am I going to do?!

Actually Blues have a player, David Backes that is an example of how a physical, powerful forechecking forward can be chippy while still posting impressive point totals - no need for players like Jarkko Rutuu, Sean Avery, or especialy Chris Simon who make a living being dirty and annoying lol. unfortunately - it's not like the old days where the PLAYERS themselves would "police" these types of players and MAKE 'EM pay for their cheap shots - the game has changed allowing for an Avery to keep a job - if it were the late 70's early 80's Avery would be beaten to a pulp, give up playing, and finally get that dream gig at VOGUE magazine trying on make-up and strutting around in high heels instead of Bauers.

Avery is a complete detriment and here's why: he may play well, but you simply never know when he's going to do stuff like his third period act the other night. Thus, it is not possible to trust him while he's on the ice and that makes it impossible for the Rangers to establish the kind of chemistry and flow you need in NHL playoff hockey. Really, he needs to be scratched if the Rangers are able to get past Washington - and I would not bet that it's a done deal.

It's too bad, because his emotional issues prevent Avery from being a very, very good player. He's absolutely blowing his last chance to stay in the league.

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Sagittarius

Watch out. Your mind is working overtime in full analytical mode, but you may be leaping to unfounded conclusions and reading too much into situations. The result of all this is that you might start to suspect someone's honesty or loyalty, and wonder what exactly they're up to. Don't accuse them of anything awful just yet because it may turn out that you were totally wrong about them.
