Glad he is beating the odds but isn't it just so Chicago, city and state of nepotism in politics, that Bowman's son would be able to go from computers to an NHL front office position. Let's see if it was you or me who tried to pull that one off. Think we'd get an interview? And Tallon better watch his back. If you think Scotty doesn't have bigger plans for his son, you are crazy. Glad the Hawks are winning but would have preferred it happen without one, and especially two Bowmans on board.

My mother was diagnosed with bladder cancer two years ago.
She's a huge Wings fan. I met Scotty Bowman at a charity function and took a blank card hoping he would write a few words of encouragement. He filled the entire card and referenced his son Stanley's situation. He took a picture with me and even recoreded a brief video message for my mom. I feared I was asking for too much, but he was so gracious and never once made it feel that way. I framed the card and picture and gave it to my mom along with the tape. Needless to say, she was shocked and thrilled. A motivational speech from the greatest coach of all time for her alone. She keeps the frame in the living room and is still fighting. This Wings fan will never forget the kindness and generosity coach Bowman showed that day. I wish all the best to Stanley and pray his cancer stays in remission. |

This is a terrific story. Leave it to David Haugh to bring it to us. Best wishes to the Bowmans and to the Hawks. BEAT DETROIT!!

No Red Wings fan should feel anything but gratitude toward Scotty Bowman and what he did to help turn the franchise around.
His decision to leave the team was nothing more than an attempt to spend time with his sick son. If you can't understand that, you are something less than human. |

Great story. Both men are very lucky and have a lot to be thankful for.
Go Hawks! |
