Full story: Newsday

Glen Sather's "Extreme Makeover: Summer Edition" is just about complete now, unless he swoops in to get Dany Heatley before training camp starts.

The Rangers remind me of the Yankees - spend, spend, spend. There is no accountability. Ultimately, the fans won't watch the product any more not in this economic environment.

Put down your bong and gain some knowledge here. We are in the salary cap era of the NHL now. If there was no cap Hossa and Komasarik would be Rangers now as well. The Rangers have gotten younger and faster and are a center away (Lecavlier) from being an Eastern Conference contender if they can pawn off Drury they will have the cap room and the prospects to get a Lecavlier. As for your name "Reggie Jackson" who is a real self loathing jerk.

I am not one to defend Sather at all, but I do think a lot of this change was inevitable and is ultimately driven by Tortorella. I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt this offseason and say this isn't just the same old change for change sake with Sather. I think he is absolutely trying to build a more flexible roster that suits Totorella's style. Tortarella said changes would be made in the offseason and guys that couldn't cut it toward the end of last year in his style would be gone. Let's see how this all plays out and how the team looks in camp before passing judgement.

So the Rags traded Gomez so they could sign the queen of injuries Marion Gaborik, well that's a phenomenal move. He'll score 20 goals before Jan 1 and then score 3 the rest of the year.

Another year and another embarrassing year, it's going to be a shame when the Isles have more points than you.

Rags=LOSERS 1 Cup in 70 years, the biggest disgrace in professional hockey!!

If Gaborik is the queen of injuries, then Ricky D must be the King of the Universe when it comes to injuries - and he will still be under contract long after Gabroik is gone.

Ricky D will be back better than ever. At $4 million a year pocket change in professional sports. His contract is insured. Gaborik is an overpriced stiff and his contract is not insured. The Rngers One Cup in 70 years is not a mirage but reality which everyone comprehends but the "Kool Aid" drinking Ranger fans, and the inept Ranger front office.

Why he's speaking the truth. The Rangers have one Cup in 70 years. You can look it up. Perhaps it is you who needs professional help.

I like Timothy's idea, the new chant for Isles and Devils fans is:

1 in 70 da, da, da-da-da;
1 in 70 da, da, da-da-da;
1 in 70 da, da, da-da-da;

Rags fans are the biggest losers on the planet, outside the fact it's the quietest building in the NHL (corporate slobs) YOU HAVE WON 1 SINGLE, SOLITARY CUP in 70 YEARS!

The Hartford Whalers have won a Cup
The Tampa Bay Lightning have won a Cup
The Anaheim Ducks have won a Cup

The bad news for the Rags those teams haven't even been around for 30 years let alone long enough to go:

1 in 70 da, da, da-da-da;
1 in 70 da, da, da-da-da;
1 in 70 da, da, da-da-da;

speaking of thirty years...is your team planning on winning one single solitary playoff series anytime soon? That must be easier than winning a cup dontchya think? 18 years, ouch

Wow, that's a strong comeback from a Rags fan, I guess I should be surprised you can actually put 3 coherent words together.

But the problem is you can rip the Isles all you want, yet all I hear is

1 in 70; da, da da-da-da
1 in 70; da, da da-da-da
1 in 70; da, da da-da-da

You can say whatever you want about the Isles, it shows your ignorance, I mean being a Rags fan shows your ignorance, yet you have 0 comeback to:

1 in 70; da, da da-da-da
1 in 70; da, da da-da-da
1 in 70; da, da da-da-da

The only shame of it all, is I have to wait another 10 years to start the 1 in 80 chant!

Rags = LOSERS
Franchise overrated, laughinstock of professional hockey! 1 in 70!!!

um...thats your comeback? You didnt even address a single point. I gues you aren't capable of it. No surprise, especially with how your post reads "laughinstock".

Talk about ignorance. You are an Islanders fan calling the Rangers a futile franchise. The Isles might not even exist in 4 years

Then we can chant K.C. Cornhuskers!

yeh no matter emn what you cannot deny that nassau coliseum isn't the quietest building in the nhl, you had the lowest average fans last year at 13,773 a game (http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/attendance ) and everyone in your organization is complaining about the horrendous stadium experience the isles offer. Also, why are you reading articles that have absolutely nothing to do with your team?

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Libra

It's one of those difficult days when anything can and will happen. Someone you were relying on might let you down, plans could be changed at the eleventh hour or a machine could go on the blink. To make matters worse, your energy levels are very erratic, so you feel full of beans one minute and ready to go to sleep the next. Don't make the situation worse by eating foods that give you a high followed by a slump.
