I just hope they have some type of framework for a deal to re-sign Smyth.

My stomach dropped when I saw this. I can't see Giving up what we did for a rental player. We certainly will not be able to sign him. He is not going to get us to win the Cup when we cannot beat the Devils

Biggest concern is the fact that both Smyth and Zhednik are free agents this summer and will be gone at that time. Better off unloading Yashin and signing a couple of these acquisitions to a several year contract.

I hope that we get there captin form edmonton In exchange, the Oilers will receive former Islanders' first-round draft picks Ryan O'Marra and Robert Nilsson plus the Islanders' first-round pick this year.

Finally thought Milbury was done pulling the strings and the Islanders were finally back on the right track. I was ever wrong, so thanks a lot Garth Milbury.

I love the way Smyth plays, but I we gave
up to much for him.. If we can sign him
to a 3-4 year deal it would make the deal
worth it... Go Garth..

Just when you think the Isles are building for the future, we trade two great prospects for a rental player. This reminds me of when MM traded all that young talent for Peca and Yashin and he then said, "I am not setting the table for the next guy!" Here we go again. The Isles will be good but did they give up the chance to be great? They better sign Smyth to ease the pain.

Looks like they have the horses now; If you want to make the playoffs, something had to be done. That's the chance you take with a rental player, besides, who knows how good O'Marra was going to be ? Nilsson should have Zach Parise and trading a 1st round pick ? this team knows nothing about the draft anyway.

On TSN they are killing Kevin Lowe.

Other GM's are saying they had no idea that he was available.

Nilsson- terrible pick. WIll never play a significant role in NHL.

O'Marra 3rd liner.

1st round pick- between 15-25.

Apparently Lowe panicked at 2:40 and just made a deal.

About Nilsson "they turned a big negative into a positive"

Nilsson is a BUST...O'Marra will be a third line player at BEST!

Stop sulking and start smiling! Sign Smyth, Zednik and Blake in the off-season (Cap going up to $47-$48 Million) and you have a NICE team here!

Sheesh!

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Aquarius

You're in a tricky position because someone who is supposed to know what they're talking about seems to be spouting complete nonsense instead. If this is an older friend or relative then you can simply smile politely and wait for them to rejoin the rest of us on Planet Earth. But if it's a boss or bureaucrat who's talking rubbish or giving you some puzzling orders, you'll be in a quandary about what to do.
