Nice! That's step 1, now we need a solid defense in front of him.

I think the defense will come into their own. Maybe adding one more veteran will help. We need a starting center. I would love to see Briere join the organization.

I'm hoping they take a strong look at Briere this summer. Carter looked pretty good last night with 2 goals.
I know he'll be fighting for the #1 line position.

I think Carter will be a good second line center next year. He has grown-up a lot this season. In my opinion, he is much better than Richards. The Flyers need a star center. Forsberg could have taken us further is he wasn't always hurt. If he is healthy all of next year, I would LOVE to see him back. But I don't thinnk he will ever be 100% again.

I heard Nitty is looking to go back to Europe. That would be ashame. He needs to spend a couple of years behind a good goalie. If he would stay in Philly, he would be as good as anyone in the league in a year or two.

I agree. I gave Nitty some shit this year but it was'n all his fault, although he does go down a little too early sometimes.. but all in all it was the lack of D that hurt him.. the boys play with more confidence in front of Biron..
Looking forward to next season..

We had to let some of the other teams have a LITTLE glory this year. Year-after-year the Flyers are a MAJOR contendor. It just wasn't our year. Just like its not Pittsburg's year or Toronto or the Islanders or many others. The important thing is that the team rebuilt and will continue to rebuild this summer. The Flyers will be in the playoffs this coming year and in the finals within 2 more after that.

Well I certainly hope we're in the finals in 2 years. The cool thing is that when we get back on track, it will be that much more exciting to see the games live and on TV. The WAC center has so much energy when they're winning. I think we'll be back to the playoffs next season. We were due for a draught.

Guy, you are right on two things.... Carter does need to get stronger on the puck. He will. His "potential" to be physical is why I prefer him over Richards. I see Carter as the next Primeau... not great as far as skills go, but a helluva blue-collar player.
And yes... there is no need to look at Briere. Just give him the money he deserves and he wwould do great in Philly.

Wouldn't Briere look great in The Orange and Black.. Spend the money on this guy for sure.

I have said some bad things about Briere but that is because he is not on my team!!
I hated Claude Lemieux but I would have loved to have him rattling up some of the other teams Philly played over the years in the playoffs.

I have repeatedly said the same about Baby Crosby. I hate the guy, but if he were a Flyer.....

mike richards is like a player from days of yore, remember dave poulin? His effort makes up for his skills, Carter is in the primeau mold, maybe even more skilled with a great release. I like where they are going with this team, fast, highly technical players, some big brutes with some mobile defensemen, and a real number 1 goalie. Hopefully there is some ridiculously skilled russian available this draft. We need a cup for god's sake.
