Once again a re-hash of crap. Luongo doesn't play here anymore, and frankly..at this point who F'ing cares! The team lost the opener, and THIS is the story that we need to read. A story about a guy who is GONE going on the second year!?...Steve, your headline writer is correct, however it doesn't match your story. If you wanna copy and paste stories from the Miami Herald about this tired subject..oh well. Too bad it wasn't you who didn't ask this simple yes or no question....LAST YEAR! THIS IS CRAP in my book, and frankly embarrasing. You guys who cover the Panthers should truly get a life. This does nothing to educate any fans, or answers NO questions about this teams FUTURE..Something Luongo has NO part in..for better or worse. Today he's a Florida Panthers NON-FACTOR.

Martin's an idiot!!!!! and I'm not referring to just the Luongo trade. Again another game goes by and Bo has the most on ice time. I believe he led the league for defensemen last year. Keep it up Jacque. You'll have this kid burned out or injured by his fifth year in the league. Oooooh!!! and what a great idea that was to have the team participate in intensive boot camp training for the 3 days prior to a game without a day off.

Well RED, hope you're happy. Turns out Martin DID address it and say it was a bad move. And just like I said would happen, it led to even MORE follow up questions. Clearly after last night's dismal play, this is the LAST thing this team needs right now. But hey, at least Martin was able to please the big RED BARON.

At the last minute the frog agent Louie had wanted another mil. As great a goalie as he is, no one would hold me up either. Pack him a stromboli and get lost. No matter the place will be packed Sat night.

Great article! Contrary to Rat's displeasure, this was a wise move on Martin's part. I'm almost starting to think they read my posts on here because I made an issue about this a couple days ago. These guys are obviously listening to their fans. Excusing those who don't know anything about public relations, by Martin admitting the trade was a mistake he cleared the air for many fans. There's nothing more he can do and I applaud him for stating that. If anyone decides to bring it up again, he can now just reiterate his previous comments for the hard of hearing. He could just say to them AGAIN "It was a bad trade. It was a mistake to lose Luongo. There is nothing we can do about it now. It is time to move on." Any further discussion at this point would be beating a dead horse so the media will have to let it die on it's own. The point is, it wasn't about Luongo leaving. It was about this club admitting to a major mistake and learning from it. Now that they have owned up to that mistake publically, there is nothing more they can do but put together a winning season with what we have now. The rest will be history.... where it belongs.

Rat, how many times do I have to tell you that sweeping something under the rug constantly doesn't make it magically "go away". Martin made the right move by addressing it head-on for fans that might still have questions. Now that he has addressed it publically, we can all move on. To answer your question, I am satisfied. Anyone who is not at this point is crying over spilled milk, Italian-Canadian, or spent too much money on a Luongo jersey. I am glad to see they finally laid the matter to rest "officially".

The Panthers looked good for the first 2 periods last night. They need to hold it together for all 3 periods. Let's hope they can do that on Saturday.

Luongo who? kicking a dead horse?
yep, get over it already... before Martin's statement in the Herald, we ALL knew that the team's front office knew it was a bad move. Why does the media and pessimistic fans have to keep rallying on it like as if Louie was the death of a franchise. Last i checked a goalie doesn't score goals, so no matter who is between the pipes, it doesn't take away from the fact that we have highly potential goal scorers, who aren't taking the chances to put the puck in net. Louie couldn't do that, Vokoun cant do it either, Neither did Beezer... Why is it when a team loses, the goalie(s) get the fingers pointed at them. How about our starting lineup? Olli didn't do anything, neither did Peltonen... Stumple seemed out of his element... 3 of the teams best scorers couldn't get the puck in net. Then our Defense just folded in the third... oh wait, thats vokoun's fault, and lets all remember Luongo now... Everyone wants to be a critic, everyone wants to be the one who can boast by saying "HA i TOLD YOU SO!" well, great team spirit aye. ya'll sure know how to keep kicking a dead horse... Most of all big red and this guy who calls himself a hockey writter here on the sentinel. GET OVER IT!

How can you keep quality players when Wayne gets to keep the profits from the arena? Your team sucks because Wayne tapped them out.

Thanks for bringing this up again. It's been 15 months and guess what? We knew this 15 months ago. Even when we were trying to talk ourselves into Bertuzzi. Can you please stop beating this dead horse and talk to us about Brett McLean and Dvorak and Welch and Murphy fitting into the lineup or something actually positive? In other words, start reporting on things that fans actually want to know.

RED, the majority of the posts here wish it would just die and go away. They don't want Martin to keep addressing it. Now it's going to be THE story for a few days, instead of Martin downplaying it. And since you are the only one in here who is happy he did it, you are in the minority. Martin couldn't give a rat's a$$ about what you or anyone in here says. This I promise you. But I'm glad you're happy. But don't worry, I give it 12 hours and you'll find the next thing to complain about. By the way, just wondering, the fact that Martin finally publicly say it was a bad move make the team play any better last night??? NO. IT DIDN'T. And that's all I care about. Winning. All you care about is getting your fill of having Panthers management eat their crow. Grow up.

And it has absolutely nothing to do with Martin sweeping anything under the rug. MARTIN DIDN'T MAKE THE MOVE. So why should Martin have to answer questions for it?!?!?!?!?! If Martin was the mastermind behind it, then yes, I'd be with you 100 percent. But he wasn't.

Actually, these amazingly bad trades have been going on for over 10 years. As you accurately point out.

Golubovsky? You mean the other one legged defenseman, Igor Ulanov....no?

In any event, this organization does everything it can on a yearly basis to ice a lousy product by trading away whatever star talent they do have and mismanaging the rest.

The boot camp was a retarded idea. Hockey tears the body down and to fix that you need rest, not teambuilding through climbing, running, push ups and getting yelled at by some douche in camo.

Regardless, after watching Vokoun's disgusting performace on 2 of goals last night where he was COMPLETELY out of position, I am inclined to believe that we are poised for yet another P.O.S. season with a very long offseason.

I didn't NEED Jacques telling me that the deal was garbage, that was quite obvious to a tike in Fisher-Price skates. I have faith in the mans reputation, and know what he thought...this is chicken crap coverage from chicken crap media. Like the equivalent to those morons who drag those coaches news conferences out after a football game. Dumb obvious questions, from some doofus.."Gee, what happened out there today", "Do you think you need to do anything different for next week", "True or False was the star _fill in the blank_ a bad trade"...Get the idea? Vokoun is the man..forget Luongo, he wants to beat you...

Thank you. Martin answering this dumb question isn't going to put fans in the stands. Winning is the only thing that will. and maybe Vokoun didn't stand on his head last night. But the entire team failed in the third period. this is going to be Martin's biggest test all season long. We know the team can play 20 minutes. We know the team can play 40 minutes. Heck, we've even see the team play solid for 55 minutes!!! The real test is, can this team play a solid 60 minutes night in and night out.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Pisces

Having to bow down to convention or limitations is enough to make you want to scream right now, and you'll do your utmost to rebel in any way you can. Be careful about this because you could easily get on the wrong side of someone who has power or authority over you. It feels as though you're battling with forces that want to keep you under control, and you don't like it one bit.
