I think we need a real goaltender. Ryan Miller has never impressed me, the only reason he was an all star was because he was voted in by pre-pubescent girls. He needs to stop whining and acting like its everyone elses fault but his. His job is to stop the puck and when he doesnt he has no one to blame but himself. Try staying on your feet, everyone in the league knows that he will drop to his knees, and you can throw it over his shoulder. Also someone explain to me why we waste a roster spot for Andrew Peters, our supposed enforcer who has not enforced anything except that he is a waste of time.

Oh well - maybe next game we'll do better.
I'm not boycotting anything - still buying my Sabres jersey or Christmas.

What a horrible game. I do have to say that at this point, I am starting to worry about them. Yesterdays game was just terrible. For one thing, they had 9 penalties, some of which were BS calls. Like the penalty to ?Tallinder? for shooting over the glass, WTF? But on top of all that, they played horribly. If they want to do anything they need to start making it happen now. We are the bottom team right now. The sabres haven't just been having bad games, they just haven't been playing real well, like we all know they could! As far as the Miller comment, that's a bunch of crap. Miller is a very good goalie. You can only put so much on Miller. If the rest of the team was playing well & not doing the things they have been, then the opposing team wouldn't even have the chances on Miller. Not saying that he's perfect but the sabres aren't losing b/c of Miller! If I was Miller I'd def. be a little po'd right now. The rest of his team def. needs to step it up & help him out! Anyways, Go Sabres!:)

Hello! He made 37 saves! Where were his teammates to help out??? They certainly weren't doing their jobs! Defensive players should not allow a total of 43 shots to even be taken on their goalie!! The whole team is lacking in many areas right now, not just Miller. No, he's no Hasek or Desjardens, but he is a very good goalie with plenty of talent. But he can't do it all...that's why the game is played by a TEAM.
By the way, in case you're wondering, I'm not a "pre-pubescent girl". I've grown up watching hockey all of my 40+ years.

We do have a terrible defense and your husband is a very lucky guy.

For a team that wanted to prove they could win without their two top guys from last year they are failing terribly.Where is the heart ?
Where is vanek ? Where is my team ? They are not physical enough, not scoring enough,or most definetly not playing any kind of defence. How about shooting more than passing I can't stand watching this team much more and I have been watching since I was 8 years old. This is just simply bad hockey. I am trying to keep the faith hopfully they will snap out of it these games are painfull.

My husband and I are supporting two different teams. He supports the Sabres and I support the Islanders. He still loves me of course. Perhaps the Sabres should make some changes when the time comes. Bring up some of the players from Rochester. They can't do any worse. Don't start putting all the blame on Miller. He just needs serious help.

I completely agree with you. I was saying the sme thing about Vanek! WTH he signs this huge contract deal and hasn't done s*h*it to show for it yet. They need to learn how to shoot instead of passing the puck. Don't they realize that they do that ALL the time & they end up losing the puck. I was hoping that the sabres would be fine w/out Briere & Drury but they're failing badly so far.

Fellow hockey fans,
First and foremost, if you are bandwagon fan, jump off, don't complain like you know what you are talking about. Second, don't place the blame on one or two guys, it is clearly the whole teams fault. If one guy is performing poorly, the rest of the team should compensate and still pull through. It isn't Miller or Vaneks fault alone, but they play a part. What I wish was for the guys to stop telling us they want to be better and do it. As a fan, they at least owe me some effort.

If we aren't gonna play defense, then we need to score a lot of goals. Right now, we are not doing either. The season is young and so is the team. They've played some good games, you can't win them all.

Well said. Over the past two years, I’ve found that this site has either a bunch of bandwagon fans when winning or a bunch of whining, excuse making complainers when they are not. I rarely see people like you who accept the facts and expect your team to give its best effort every night. Yes, you have lost some good players that makes the team much different now, but a good team and a good coach finds ways to use what is available to find a way to win. My biggest disappointment about my team last year was that Laviolette just could not find a way to use the players he had in the proper way to get wins. Let’s see what Lindy decides to do now.

I couldn't DISagree with you anymore. I think Ruff is one of the best things that happened to the sabres & Miller is not losing the games, the sabres are!

uh, Ruff is a good coach, he's been here for 10 years and you expect to just get rid of him? and lets see there are 82 games in a year there's plenty of time to work out their problems. It's like Buffalo has bipolar fans, if we win everyone is like yayyyyyyyyy they're the greatest! and then they loose some and some people want them to leave... what is wrong with you people?

I for one did mention Vanek but I never placed blame on him for losing. I did say that he isn't showing much though. Vanek was one of the top scorers last season and now you hardly hear his name. It is the whole team, and I believe most people said that.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Virgo

It's okay to have high expectations, but try to keep in mind that no one can be all things to all people. As the Moon spends one last day in its current sign, it urges you to find a way to recognize others for their strengths, and forgive them their weaknesses. Virgoans' idiosyncrasies must look like strange quirks from the outside as well! Fate ties up the loose ends towards the end of the day.
