STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS: A blow to offense

It was a bad check and Teppo deserves a suspension. He got the penalty and the Isles scored. This is an NHL issue, not Sabres/Isles. We Sabres fans have watched our guys get hurt this year too and its time the NHL cleaned up the hitting. Doesnt change the fact the Isles team isnt playing well enough to win. Gotta score 5 on 5, not just on the PP. GO Sabres!

Nolan and the whole team need to stop cryin because that is not going to win them games. Face it, the seasons over and it was just luck that got them there. Dipietro doesn't make a difference in the team and they dont belong in the playoffs. There is already 2 great teams that represent New York and thats the Sabres and the Rangers. The sabres are going to go all the way. So sit down and shut up islanders its going to be an end to another terribke season for you guys!!

I didn't see the hit, so I can't comment on that. But Teppo is definitely not a thug. He's a veteran defenseman who is 38 and still plays at a high level. He's nowhere near the Chris Simon's, or Chris Neil's, or Todd Bertuzi's of the league who have no respect for players. From the sounds of things though, the injury or whatever was incidental. Teppo got the penalty though and the Islanders scored on the powerplay, so they did what they could on the situation.

That penalty should have been a major call. Numinen had body position, shoulder to shoulder with Blake and had the inside on the puck as it slid into the corner. As Blake turned toward the boards Numinien extended his arm and drove him head first into the boards. IF he continued to body check him into the boards I would have had no problem with the call, but the extention of the arms thrusting Blake into the glass when Numinen could have peeled off into the corner unimpeded to get the puck makes it a deliberate attempt to injure. I hope the team sends the video to the league for review, but obviously they won't do a damn thing about it.

When coming up on Blake, Teppo clearly gave him an extra shove with his arm. My wife who doesn't even watch hockey said something when she saw it on replay. It should have been a double minor. It would have been if it was an Isles defenseman. As an aside, I've never had any illusions that the Isles would probably lose the series based on talent the seasons record & the injuries so it's not sour grapes here. Just don't be blind.

Blake dove into the boards and hurt himself in the process. Thats what you get for diving.

Hey Jackass, the Rangers are a great NY team? They beat the best of the worst in round 1. We are a better team than the Rangers beat so I guess the Rangers dont deserve to be in the playoffs either since they played a team that sucks more than you think we do!
