A miserable end to a miserable season. Hopefully Hedman will help the defense improve next year,(you KNOW we're not gonna get Tavares).

I went to yesterdays game against Philly and todays game against Boston- At both games I was sitting in the corners-from this view I tried very hard to try to figure out what kind of system Scott Gordon "supposedly" implemented into this team and I was drawing a blank- I know the sport, I played it and have watched all levels for over 35 years and I gotta be honest....there's absolutely no system at all- And if there is,guess what...it sucks and it's not working 30th team in the league..pretty friggin pathetic-

mike i agree,i cant stand this coach or this so called system.its pitaful injuries or not we should have never finishd this way..... so sadned im glad i got the nhl pkg.lol. truly if this is any indacation to next year we are in trouble to many hot and cold players... including these so called backup golies.very inconsistant it looked like they both gave up at the end... thats the problem with this team its been that way for a while now there is no constintecey i know i cant spell lol. hot and cold up and down on every game.... you never know if were gonna win or loose. i dont care who they get in june get rid of this coach i dont like him im not the only one neither who dosent like him... i wish we had john t he wanted the job so bad look were the rangers are now and look who we have...so sadned... i really am.... how did it come to this like i said in my recent post that about says it all talk is so cheap. what i see with my own eyes tells the real truth...good luck next year i mean really i just dont see it....

I to was at the Philly game. They looked lackluster, but there are a lot of positives. Think of the Detroit game and that stretch if you want a glimpse of the future. Scotty has really taught these guys, a lot of them need to bulk up and they will. 5 draft picks in 2 rounds in a deep draft. DP back next year, (and he will be), bulking up, a good draft, a free agent or two, the enthusiasm of a new stadium, and that fact that bridgeport plays the same system gives us a playoff spot next year and a bright future. If you are not buying what I am selling remember this and tell me I told you so if I am wrong. You want an area to improve: Snow has gained experience in working the trade deadline, an area we could improve on, but hey he got us Streit and Gorden which are good moves.

Start with a horror show at coach. His system doesn't work at this level and leaves players prone to injury...Lemaire available! DP not proven,,injury prone at this young age, Joey Mc and Yann D. more horror shows,,Ridderwall and Vislosky sub avg seasons, Mannino avg at best and Lawson not under contract..We need a goalie! 48.2 % odds on #1 we will lose that too..Hedman is my choice anyway.. Did Stamkos turn Tampa around,,Tavares inj prone. How much were Jaffe and Rose prompted on tv last nite to make sure everyone now knows "it wont happen next year either!" Will we stand for another last place season?

Sorry, but the St. Louis Blues didn't use injuries as an excuse and we're in the playoffs despite being picked to finish next to the icelanders.

Wow what a bunch of negative guys...the bottom line is: 1/ the team is better off with Hedman over Tavares, 2/ you guys no blah blah about what's going on, 3/ thanks Garth keep up the rebuild. Now let's keep the Isles on Long Island with the Lighthouse Project and, Dump Kate Murray Hempstead Town Supvr Dump Kate Murray Hempstead Town Supvr Dump Kate Murray Hempstead Town Supvr Dump Kate Murray Hempstead Town Supvr Dump Kate Murray Hempstead Town Supvr Dump Kate Murray Hempstead Town Supvr Dump Kate Murray Hempstead Town Supvr Dump Kate Murray Hempstead Town Supvr Dump Kate Murray Hempstead Town Supvr Dump Kate Murray Hempstead Town Supvr Dump Kate Murray Hempstead Town Supvr Dump Kate Murray Hempstead Town Supvr

Something to think about. The Islanders finished over 30 points behind Florida and Florida did not make the playoffs. Next year will be another bad year, wrong GM wrong Coach. No one player is going to make this team better, and they have already decided they will not go after any high priced free agents. This is a team that plays uptempo offense without scoreres and does not play much defense, so DP or no DP it will not matter. This system is not working.

Any Islander fan who thinks DP will be back next year....WAKE UP. The guy is still on friggin crutches. He is done. If he plays one game this year you will be lucky. His so called career is over. Time to get a bonafide golie who isn;t hut every year. They have enough draft picks to get a golie for the future. Good 15 year contract Wang. He hasn;t even played 1 years worth and probably won't play much more.

C'mon Logan, quit rationalizing how terrible this team was. If I read the words "gritty", "fine effort", "young and talented" one more time in your islanders coverage I'm gonna puke. that fact is this team was the worst team in a 30 team league all season - from start to finish. They ended the year getting outscored 24 - 5 and Gordon is quoted as pleased with the way they finished???? They were not even competitive. Injury to DP? Puh-leeeeease. They have never gotten a full season out of him ever so that's a given. Tell it like it is....this organization is Putrid from front office to roster to attendance.

You are going to raise the ire of Gordon loving Battfist. His prediction that Gordon will be "coach of the year" next season will get him after you, and the rest of us that realize Gordon sucks as a coach. Get ready for some nasty (he thinks they're funny) remarks from him.

Although I was one of those that did not want to see Ted Nolan go. If Snow he stays to the plan great, if he starts an end of the year fire sale near the trading deadline ala Milbury then he too gets the axe. The jury is still out on Gordon, which is to say who knows if he is just a stop gap right now for the young players to develop. Maybe after next year Gordon will not be the coach of this team. Remenber 1972 we had Phil Goyette coaching this new team and as soon as it was realized he was not the coach to bring this team to a new level he was let go for Al Arbour. My point: The jury is still out, on Snow and Gordon. Let’s see what Snow does in the draft and let’s see if this team improves by at least 15 wins under Gordon. Until them have a great summer Islander fans.

This maybe unpopular but, if the Isles dont get the 1st pick and cant draft Tavaras. I''d pass on Hedmen and trade down a spot or two and take one of the other highly rated forwards in the draft. Kane, Duchene or Schenn and get some more 2nd and third round picks. Offense sells tickets and right now Isles need to sell tickets.

To all the Gordon haters.... According to TSN's NHL Power Rankings: [1] Boston: Contenders due to rapid development of young players. Now for a gold star!!!!!.... Who can name the person responsible for the development of the Boston Bruin's young players? Give up? Answer: Scott Gordon
