Full story: Newsday

"Safe is death." This rather ungrammatical phrase was John Tortorella's mantra when he coached the Lightning.

Arthur, you know nothing. Tortorella is the perfect guy for this team, they need a coach who is aggresive to light a fire under these guys @$$'s. Oh yeah, he has also won the Stanley Cup.

Do you really think the coach was the problem? While I agree Renney wasnt the right coach for the Rangers, their problems lay way beyond the coach being "soft". I think the problem with the Rangers (other than losing around 80 goals in Jagr, Shanny, and Avery) is that guys just dont care. Gomez, Drury, and Redden cashed in, and are NO WAY NEAR worth what they are getting paid.

What happened to the rebuild that was supposed to happen when the team was dismantled a few years ago, and leetch was traded, after spending his entire career on broadway?? That lasted one season, and sure enough, UFA's were bought, and are now under performing. You look at kids like Dubinsky and Callahan who bring it every night, and play with jam, like they care. Why? Maybe it has something to do with them not getting ridiculous money, and not caring as a result.......

Im not dumping on the Rangers here..........just making a point here. The problems are a lot deeper than Renney..........unfortunately someone had to take the fall for Sather having zero clue about the post lock out hockey. The next step is to fire Sather, and Messier will be in his first GM role.

Sather is the problem. He got them cap strapped with lets face it 3 players that aren't even playing like 1st liners or all-stars. Gomez, Drury, and of course Redden. Put some blame on sather ranger$ fans. Maybe get a "sather must go chant" like us islanders fans did with mike Milbury.

Daily Horoscope for December 17

Capricorn

You're in the mood to spend some money today. That's fine if you've got it, because you'll have a wonderful time strolling around the shops. But it isn't such good news if you're supposed to be sticking to a strict budget because that will be well nigh impossible once you've seen something that catches your eye. It will keep saying 'Buy me, buy me!'
