OK, I have to agree with the moves. We're definitely a better team without Kalinin. Like Johnny D said in another post, take your pick, Dawes, Prucha or Callahan. All the same player.

Just wish we could have moved Dushitski the worthless turd

Although I don’t think this makes the Rangers a cup contender the moves make them a better team down the stretch they are bigger now and the power play will be better. Sorry to see Prucha go he was given a raw deal over the past two seasons
He has a big heart but due to his size he will probably never make a big impact in The NHL

I’m curious how this will affect the cap situation in the off season. It’s great to dump Khalinins salary and I believe Andrapov and Morris are unrestricted free agents hopefully there will be enough cap room to sight a top-flight scorer.
In these salary cap times it’s all about dumping salaries and moving forward.

Moves make little to no sense. These guys won't slove the teams scoring issues.(Least goals scored in the NHL) Hopefully, the new system under Torts csn create better scoring chances unlike the lousy 40 shots a game off the boards.
Kalinin was UFA at season end Dawes was RFA and Prucha I believe was UFA. All in all the salary was coming off the books.
Sending Voros to the minors is a good move.
They should do whatever it takes to get Marty St. Louis to NY, if Torts is in the long term plans.
Brings speed and a scoring touch and cheaper than a Hossa, Gaborik, or Kovalchuk.

Hopefully we make the playoffs.

Antropov is a big guy who can crash the net and score. He will work well in Torts system.

Sorry to see Prucha go. He was a hard worker and went to the net hard. How a guy can go from 52 goals in his first two seasons to trade bait is a reflection on the Ranger organization rather than him.
We are not going to win the cup with this line-up, so if these two new guys walk after the season, what did Sather gain by this, other than trade the future for a few wins now.

Sather is a moron, he proves it time and time again, both of these guys he brought in are ufa's this summer, were already in cap trouble, zherdev is a free agent this summer as well...how we can afford to keep them all is beyond me unless they all want to take a paycut because their teammates (gomez, drury, redden) all make 6+ mill???? why they would do that, only sather knows. So essentially we released prucha, rietz, dawes, voros, riismiller,k alinan this season (why were they all on the team in the firstplace then) and brought back avery and two rentals, all in the hopes of clinging to a playoff spot we should have locked up two months ago as sather sat on his hands and watched it all fall apart...
great GM, wait till the team has fallen from 1st in the confernce to battling for the 8th spot before you make a move you moron

Sather needs to go!
When he was with Edmonton he mocked the Rangers and said they should win annually with all their spending power. Well Slats, what happened? I guess it's easier to be critical then it is to produce!

Just imagine where this team could be right now if they had a GM with some intelligence over the last few years. I hate to say it, but the Rangers can learn a lot from the Devils Franchise...

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Scorpio

A loved one is very assertive under the Full Moon tonight. You'll only make it worse if you come down like a ton of bricks, given that Mars is retrograde and it's a lunar eclipse tonight. Besides, do you really want to spoil this evening's celebrations because you've had a flaming row? If possible, live and let live, so you can have a really happy New Year!
