Scoreboard. Go Wings. Is Q losing his mind against the Wings - yet again with the ice time for "Candy" Kane & Toews?

This is too easy. The Wings need a better test than this to get ready for Pittsburgh. Nice decision by Burish to get borish at the end. Typical from that team and that city. Can't wait for the "sell some cars" cheer. Some self-esteem building antics like that will be needed after you watch the hand shaking at the end of game 4.

Dam fine game! Detroit came out slow but proved that they are the better team. Detroit only needs to reduce turn overs but play the same offensively.

Should be. Your "kids" were owned and schooled today. Even Q said the first goal they scored was luck. One hawk soul down, 3 to go. GO WINGS!

Hawks outplayed them except for a 3 minute stretch. Should come back to Chicago 1-1

Thats right lesson #2 on Tuesday. Chicago is just no match for Detroits depth. Oh yes eveybody says Detroit is old, slow and Ozzie is weak. What am I saying Detroit has no chance!!!!!!!! NBC is so one sided.

The "kids" hung tough for 2½ periods. It's only game 1, and BTW, you're supposed to win your home games. That's why they call it "home ice advantage." No matter the outcome of this series, the Hawks are here to stay and will be a major factor in the playoffs for years to come. Wirtz and McDonough have turned the franchise around and you'll be losing the title of "Hockeytown" very soon.

Excuse me! "Hawks out played them except for a 3 minute strech". What game were you watching? Except for 10 mins in the first and torward the end of the third Detroit CLEARLY dominated! What was the shots on goal and scoring chances! Wake up and put on the winged wheel!!!!!!

Well, that game pretty much went as expected. The hawks got manhandled. They really are outclassed in this series.

I have some questions for hockey experts because this is only the second Blackhawks game I've been able to watch all year (the first being the Classic - I don't have cable).

In both games that I watched, the same thing seemed to happen. The Hawks came out extremely aggressive. Practically the entire first period was spent on Detroit's side of the ice. Then after that....it was like the Hawks didn't stand a chance. They looked like the clearly inferior team, with almost the entire rest of the game played on their half of the ice. They seemed to be desperately defending in those last two periods.

Why is this? Is this because the Hawks decided to make a huge push in that opening period, expend all their energy to hopefully get a big lead, and were okay with being tired and playing defense the rest of the game? Or was it that the Wings just adjusted well? Was it because the Hawks got lucky in that first period, because it looked like from that point on the Wings were clearly the better team?

It just seems curious to me that I saw the exact same pattern in both games. I don't know a lot about hockey but I know that it has to be the best sport to watch in HD and I love that the Hawks are doing well. Can someone answer my questions?

Wow. What game did you watch? For sure, the Wings didn't play that well - they were still feeling the effects of game 7 vs. the Ducks - yet they still handled your Hawks. Your Hawks, by the way, were well rested and could only pull out 1 goal, plus a helper from the refs. Seriously, if the Wings only outplayed the Hawks for a 3-min. stretch and STILL beat them, wait until Tuesday night.

Don't worry, you still have the Cubs.
